It depends upon who is getting the bath. Reno in his full coat can take 1-1/2 hours. Ruby and Razz with shorter coats take less than an hour. Louis the poodle doesn't take long to bathe really, it's the drying and trimming that takes so long with him (1-1/2 hrs). My foster kids I keep in short coats and it takes about 45 minutes. All of them get blow dried and that's 30 minutes (or more) of the process because I don't use a high dryer setting. |
5 minutes to bathe. 5-10 minutes to blow dry on the rare occasion that I do it. No brushing required. She doesn't really tangle. Teeth are usually daily and separate. Ears take 3 ish minutes. So 5-10 minutes... But if I don't blow dry, I usually hold her in a blanket and come on YT. lol |
Just a bath and blow dry takes 10-15 minutes when Morgan has no more then 2 inches of hair. Brushing is only done when blow drying which makes drying time much less. If I do nail, pads, ears, sani, and special conditioning treatment (in tub) it takes about 30 minutes. |

are you asking if one hour each is reasonable or how you can get them done faster? it really depends on the individual dog, the coat, the behavior, etc. I have done full grooms on some yorkies that take about 40 minutes, and others that get just brush bath and nails that take an hour +. the longer and fuller the coat is, the longer it will take. the more product you use, the longer it will take. the type of equipment you use, etc. after the bath, get them as dry as you possibly can with a towel, comb them through, then pop them in a cage for 15 to 20 minutes, ( a fan on top is okay). then reach for the dryer. if you dont have a dryer made for grooming, you might want to think about getting one. there are some very nice ones out there that are not too expensive. :aimeeyork |
Jackson is easy -- about 10 minutes in the bath. Give a quick brushing, shampoo him, rinse, condition, rinse. Brush teeth. Towel dry. Then he runs around like a crazy man and dries himself on in about 10 minutes! |
Mobile groomer vs home baths I have a mobile groomer -- Fuzzy Friends -- come to the office every 4 to 5 weeks and groom my two boys. I don't know how they do it... Max (the little one) comes back in 20 minutes. Clean, soft, trimmed, smelling great, ears cleaned, glands done, etc.. Marley appears 15 minutes later beautifully trimmed, all gold and charcoal, soft and smelling great. I'm not sure I'd like what is going on in that trailer...but at least it's quick and they're brought back to me fast. When I bathe them, it's 8 minutes for bath, and another 20 for blow dry and brush. |
