hair troubles

hi everyone i'm new to this site so im just now trying to get the hang of it...lol well my two girlz hair type are very different. i took them to petco for there first haircuts n gave very good directions on what i wanted done but to make a long sad story short. they hacked away at their hair and its taking forever to grow back.
now for the problem.
percious 's hair is very fine n straight and princess's hair is just right but when ever i tie their hair up it breaks off.
i use the lil bands that are flat and are not supposed to break the hair but it still does and i take care not to put them on too tight.
is there a easy safer way to tie up my girlz hair?
or will i end up having to cut their hair into bangs if you have any tips that would be great

Hi and welcome. So glad you found us. The trick is to "cut" the band before taking it out rather than pulling it off. Next, just keep letting the hair grown till it's long enough to start braiding. Braiding is so much easier to take care of and you can still put a bow on top.

I'm still working up to the braiding, but I fully agree with cutting the band instead of just pulling it off. Here's an example of the band scissors one of our YT members sells. toplinepet.com

I bought one of those from her and it doesn't cut at all. I emailed her about that and about a couple other items that are very cheaply made but she never got back to me.

i do cut the bands out but the hair looks kinda matted after cutting out the band n wen i seperate the hair wth my finger i c lil knots then i use the comb after n alota hair cums out. maybe i should just stop all together

I have the same band scissors that toplinepet has. I thought they weren't cutting at all - turns out I was using them wrong. Only one edge cuts the bands.
I've always got a reply back when I have PM'd Jenny about anything. Maybe you contacted her when she was busy moving and she forgot??? Hopefully she will see your message here.

How long are you leaving the bands in?? Beamer sometimes gets "tangles" in his topknot if I don't redo it every day. Are you conditioning her hair?

Hi, I never got an email from you regarding the band scissors. Did you send an email via my site? or my personal email? jyoung_01@hotmail.com there's an underscore after g.

I did respond to your post about the Madan products that you were not happy about in another thread. The items can be returned if it's in their original packaging & is unused. In your case it was the steel tail comb & band scissor, you can certainly return them for a refund or exchange if you'd like.
