Hmmm wrapping his coat I had thought about but never done it. He isn't a show dog, Never heard of a wrapping jacket. Braiding his hair, that may be the easier way??? Just put braids in??? Anything special? Are there any pics anwhere of a Yorkie with braids? If I get those wraps, are they reusable? And where do you get the wrapping jacket? I would do anything to keep his coat free of those spurs. The Beggars lice I can handle much better - we have those here too, but they are easy to remove. Those spurs are a lot harder. |

Braids-just seperate the hair and put in lots of braids. |

What about doing some scrunchy sections? Section with them, then put them in the pony tails about every 2"? What do you think about that Mary? That's quick, eh? The little tiny ones that some people use to keep them from peeing on the coat, or topknots. |

Finishing touch - Dog Bows: Dog Leads & Bows, Show Dog Bows and Show Supplies Show Off Lainee LTD Are great places to get wraps. But doing a price comparison I find that Show Off has the best prices. |

Another option would be to use satin creme through his coat then put a t-shirt on him. A t-shirt is going to make him tangle. But seeing that it's only for an hour at the most you should be okay. then go to the bath to rinse out if you have tangles or leave it in if you don't. Another one to ponder. |

Hmm maybe it would be a good idea to put T-shirts on him. The little tangles I don't mind at all, it is those horrible sand spur matts I abhor. He likes to be outside. We have a doggie door and the dogs can come and go into the yard as they like. (I close it down around 10pm so they are not going to be going outside when we are in bed). Beamer thinks he is a guard dog, and he has to be in the yard close to the fence so he can warn us when someone has the nerve to walk down the street without his permission:D or when our neighbour decided to work in her yard, he thinks we need to know she is outside:) |
I've ordered from there. I haven't found anyone that carries the long silk. Your lead looked beaded in the video. Did you get your long time vendor to custom make it? Is it smaller than the beaded leads or the same size? I think I may try her. Quote:

Yes, Delilah's lead was custom made for her and me. Karen makes wonderful leads, according to my highth and the dogs neck piece preferance. Delilah prefers a braided satin neck piece. She'll be in Vegas or do you want me to PM you her info? |

She is at the groomer's today. I told them if they had to pull too hard; just to cut it out and we would let it grow back out. The groomer didn't look too askance so maybe it wasn't as bad as I thought. **Note to self** do NOT leave bow in hair for two weeks no matter how well it continues to look. Lesson learned. She hates for me to put a bow in her hair so I was trying to leave well enough alone. Never again |

Depending on the thickness of his coat you might get away with one only scrunchie for each side of his body, from back of the shoulder, to in front of the loin. |

Bruce has been working in the yard, so I am hoping he has got rid of those weeds along the fence where I am sure Beamer gets them from. The other Yorkies don't have a problem with them - but then Beamer is the only one with a long silky coat. |
