You know before I began showing, but attending shows. I was running around show sites, helping, but asking exhibitor/breeders what was this and what was that and what was it used for. I spent a fortune on grooming products, equipment and I didn't even have a dog to show yet. But, the good thing about that is that I had everything out of the way before the dog and had purchased everything over a period of time And the big expense was the dog. If I'd have done it the other way around, I think I'd have really felt the pinch.

Mary, can you recommend a good spray conditioner? I've been using CC's Ice on Ice but I don't like it as well as I did at first.

I just used a wooden pin. Thought I'd remind you. The wooden pins break in the CC pin brush when you drop it.

Good reminder, thank you! I won't ask how you discovered that. ;)

Apparently they also make a tasty chew. :p I left mine on the ottoman and my biggest was able to get to it. The middle bristles are fine, but the outer ones and the brush itself are gnawed to pieces.

I don't know if it's from being dropped or hitting it on things. But it's the outside ones too. I don't know how it happened. I know they would love to chew on that brush!

I have a Mason Pearson Pure. Never tried a CC boar.

Thank you for all the helpful advice! I changed my mind... I am going to order one of the Madan brushes to start with but I can't decide if I want to get the regular size or small. I do have small hands and Tobie is 6.3 lbs.... which of the sizes would you guys recommend?

I have the regular size in green and the small in pink. I love them both, but if you are only getting one I recommend the regular size. It's the size of a hairbrush you would use on yourself, and the small is more of a purse size, if that helps.

I just looked at them both. The pad on the regular sized green is much more giving than the small pink one is. Definitely start with the regular sized one.

Okay, one more question... LOL.... I had decided on the medium soft because Tobie's hair is kind of thick and, as I mentioned, a cotton coat. Is that the one I should get or do you think the soft would be better? I keep going back and forth...so many options! hehe :p

I am a brush snob! Lol! I have and love boyhe the CC and Maden brushes! For the money, the Maden are my personal fave! I believe that there is less breakage with KBs hair. And it must feel more massaging for her because she doesn't mind a brushing. She rather looks forward to it! That's my thoughts....

I've been watching this thread (more like lurking lol!) & am glad you decided on a Madan. I couldn't voice my opinion on the brushes bc I sell them, & it would be a conflict of interest, against forum rules.
I recommend getting any of the soft brushes, baby blue, orange & pink. If Tobie tolerates brushing, you can also go w/the med soft ones, red, purple or the small black & pink. If you have any questions, please PM me...even if you don't get it from me, I'll be glad to help.;)

Oh, I'm definitely ordering from you... I just couldn't decide which one to get :) Tobie is really good with brushing unless there is tangle or mat that I need to get out. Hmmm... okay, I am just going to start out with the soft since I really like the baby blue color. LOL.
