What do you pay for grooming? I know it can vary by region, but am curious those of you who do have your fur babies groomed what do you pay? You would think with the economy the way it has been the prices would be a little lower.....but nope where I have taken mine for over 2 years the price has increased once again since spring. I get Frasier (my 5 yr old bichon) and Cooper 5-5.5 lb yorkie to get groomed at the same time and I am now paying $90.00 for both. They charge me the same for my 17 lb bichon as the do for my 5.5 lb guy who gets a puppy cut each time. Also curious how often do you get your furbabies groomed professionally? |
Wow!! Well, for trim...ears, feet, belly is $75 for all three of my babies. When I get a full groom it is $40 for each dog. Still cheaper than yours!!! |
$50 for my 12.5lb boy. + $10 tip. I think it's a bit much because of the fact that he never has "long" hair and I keep him in a puppy cut/shaved-ish year round. I've begun learning how to do little things myself. He got groomed for the summer in mid-June and just now went back to the groomer this month in October so in between, I kept his face trimmed, his butt, and I haven't yet mastered the cutting of the nails. Eventually, I'd like to learn myself and only take him to the groomers maybe twice a year but as for right now, he goes every 15-16 weeks with me keeping up with him in between! |
I pay $46.00 for both of mine to get a trim every 6 weeks. I am thinking of doing it myself. All the groomer does is sanitary area, trim hair from pads of feet and even up skirts and tips of ears and clip nails. I think I can do it myself,or anyway I am going to try this next time. |
For my two guys it's $50 just for a touchup If they need any serious cutting involved it's $35 per dog |
I was trimming Oliver myself when he had a full coat. But for this summer we went with a chihuahua do! Still had his cute face and mustache - I paid $50 +5 tip I use a mobile groomer that comes to my house. I just don't trust the groomers around here. They are too busy and I feel they don't "look out" for the little guys? Just me being paranoid probably ... but oh well :aimeeyork He's back on the schedule for Nov for a touch up! |
My Armani is groomed once a month. I drop her off when I go to work, she has time for a play date and full groom and I pick her up on the way home. The grooming cost $87 and she has to bring her own lunch. Armani weighs 6 pounds and it cost the same price when she had her first professional groom as a 3 pound 7 ounce puppy. She is 1 1/2 years old now. We love Pat her groomer! |
I pay $45 for Piper to be groomed. I have been using the same groomer for 30 years and I just love her. Never once has any of my babies ever been nicked or hurt in any way. Every time I drop Piper off to be groomed I know she will be well taken care of and be absolutely beautiful when I pick her up. |
yikes I hope I didn't offend anyone with my post... I meant that I had not found anyone in my area... not that dropping at a groomer was not a good idea. In SC I had a great groomer that I dropped my pup off at and he was VERY well cared for. :D |
Sophie is about 4 lbs and gets a full puppy cut about every 6 weeks. We pay $30.00 plus a $5.00 tip. It takes about an hour so I drop her off, go shopping and then pick her up again. It's less expensive than many I've seen here, maybe because Michigan's economy is about the worst in the country. Sophie likes her groomer who by the way is also a dog trainer. She tells me Sophie is great and holds perfectly still on the table. Are we talking about the same dog!!:p Jackie & my :littleangSophie :aimeeyork |
I decided to learn how to do it myself! With the help of local groomers I can take care of their grooming needs at home. When I was taking them to the groomer it would cost around $80.00 for 2 dogs! |
$25 - sanitary groom, hair trimmed around the eyes (Remy does not wear a top knot) nails trimmed (if needed), bath and a nice blow-dry :) |
45$ for Lola at this boutique around here. I haven't had her groomed and don't plan on for a while. I think I will just purchase my own stuff and do her myself. |
Well, I must be truly lucky because my groomer only charges me around $35 for both my boys. They go every two weeks so they get a bath, trim, sanitary shave, and blow dry. I keep both of them long. I've been using this groomer for almost three years and my dogs LOVE going there. I used to work really close to her shop so I would drop them off before work and then pick them up when I got off. I changed jobs about a year ago so now I take them every other Saturday. I would rather get up early on a Saturday and drop them off then have to change groomers. |
Zoey is about 8 pounds. Hers in $35 for a bath, haircut, trimming of nails, feet, eyes all that.I take her about every month. |
1 Attachment(s) Here is Sophie at the groomers:) Jackie & my :littleangSophie:aimeeyork |
I groom my nine and 4 of my puppies I sold. I can't imagine taking them to be groomed. It was trial and error learning but they always look nice now and doing it yourself makes it easy to maintain the perfect look.:) |
My groomer charges $30 per puppy. I do keep them very short in the summer as we live in Texas and the temperature can get in the triple digits. I have taken them and she has only charged me $30 for the both of them. But I think she only bathes and trims them up for that price. She is very good, she does it out of her house. Some of the shops in my area want $75 and up for grooming. She is very soft spoken and very gentle with my little babies. |
My groomer charges $30 for shampoo, hair cut (shave anal area, trim foot pads, trim ears, even up body hair, trim eyebrows), blow dry and brush hair and trim toenails. (And she puts a hairbow in.) Her shop is in the same building as my vet and I get an early appt. so I can drop her off on my way to work. She is through in a couple of hours and my husand usually picks her up. She doesn't work on Saturdays. I have to wait two weeks for an appointment as she stays booked up that far in advance. She works with all breeds. She has two beautiful Yorkies herself, so I have mostly relied on her judgement as to how to groom Abby. Abby is 7 months old and going this week for her 4th grooming. She really needs it every month My niece has recently gotten a Yorkie and she takes her puppy to another groomer about 10 miles away. She pays only $25 and her groomer also brushes his teeth. Her groomer works 1/2 day on Saturday. I have considered changing groomers, but our groomer is so sweet I don't want to hurt her feelings. I may try her sometime though. |
$30.00 for clipping toe nails and trimming feet pads. I do the rest myself. |
For the works at my groomers Jersey gets bath, nails, ears and cut 37.50 + 5.00 tip:animal36 |
$20 for a puppy cut, sanitary trim, nails, bath and blow dry. Last time I took Motley in for just a bath, dry, nails and trim and was charged only $15. This is even a groomer who will actually listen and do only what I asked. No more suprises when I pick him up and that is worth way more money then I'm charged! |
hello my chico just for trims it is 35 dollars .full course is 50 dollars .and the reasons i dont groom him because he likes to growl and really i am afraid that he would bite .my grommer has to put a muzzle on him so she can give him a cut so you can imagine .:) |
I pay $25 for a trim, sanitary cut, nail trimming, bath, blow dry, ear trim, eye trim, trim around pads, etc!!! :D |
I pay around $59 |
Cooper is going for his first grooming next week. It will be $35 for bath, cut, nails, cleaning ears. I will drop him off on my way to work and pick him up on my way home. She has Yorkies as well and he will get to play while he is there. |
My girls are only just turning 6mths and so I've only had their nails done, both of them for a total of 5 bucks. But my groomer does 80lb Bear and 10lb Baxter both, bath, trim, baxter gets his anals squeezed:eek: and a modified schnauzer (makes him look like a westie), nails cut, pads trimmed, the entire enchilada for 50 bucks total. So, I guess I get a pretty good deal. She does them about every couple months. They'll be doing both my girls when they're ready. |

:thankyou2I appreciate everyone's input. I am not unhappy nor overly happy with the groomer we have been using, she does a nice job on Cooper but she now has assistants and I swear the last time someone else cut there hair....it looked totally different. I had the choice to make an appointment with one of the less experienced groomers and I chose to wait an additional 2 weeks to get him into our normal groomer, so was a little aggravated that I think someone else cut there hair but I still got charged the Senior groomer price. |
I pay $75 plus tip for my three. That includes bath, cut, nails and ear hair plucking:) |
I bought a CD on how to trim a yorkie from a lady on this forum. barbie oyunlari oyun kanal d at suehentschel.com I've been doing my two male yorkies since. I do let the vet trim there nails for $8 a piece. I just don't feel comfortable doing it myself. This is a great CD with lots of info.:D |
