Shampoo & Conditioner I would really like to know about a really good shampoo and conditioner for Yorkies that helps to keep the coat soft, shinny and also helps withg. I keep my Patti & Calleigh's coat long in the winter because it gets pretty cold here and they shiver outside - they are both small yorkies 4 lbs. and under - but I do find the longer coat hard to maintain, so if any one knows of a really good shampoo, conditioner I would love to hear about it. :aimeeyork:animal-pa |
Hello :)Go to: PURE PAWS HOME what are you using at this time. |
Coat Handler works wonderful for us!! I know that there are many other great ones out there, but I always come back to this one. Shampoo and Conditioner. |
Joey's breeder is a show breeder and is use to working with long coats, she swears by the shampoo called Biogroom and says that it was specially formulated for Yorkie coats. I've tried other shampoos, because I'm kind of a shampoo nut, but I do think it the best shampoo and conditioner I've tried. You can get a free sample of their products by requesting a trial pack; their products are very concentrated, and you should mix with 4 parts of water for one part of product, so their little sample bottles go a long way. Just click on "contact us" and request some samples. Bio-Groom - Exceptional Pet Care Products for Over 30 Years |
Thx Nancy! I was looking for some products to try as well. I just emailed Biogroom. Hopefully they will send me a few samples to try. |
I'm always trying different shampoos & conditioners & the best combo I've found is MinkSheen & Tomlyn Nova Pearls Creme Rinse Conditioner. It leaves my 4 (I've got 2 that tangles very easily, 1 cotton coat & 1 modified) shiny & silky for days. Bio-Groom that Nancy recommends are great too, make sure you ask for the Silk Conditioning Creme Rinse. |
Shampoo Conditioner I use Plush Puppy shampoo and conditioner (for show days) and #1 all Systems Shampoo for regular washings. These are the products my breeder recommends and his coat is nice and shiney too. When my breeder showed me how to wash Razzle it helped. You may already know this but the washing should be with smooth downward movements of your hand from root of hair to tips. Not circular fingertip movements. That will tend to tangle the coat. Lots of conditioner is applied then we do a massage of his body while the conditioner sits on the coat. Then rinse off the conditioner but leave some of it in the coat. I also like DRAPE by Plush puppy This product you use as final conditioner that you leave in. Hope it helps and I'm going to try some of those other products mentioned here. :rose::aimeeyork |
I use "Vellus" show shampoo and conditioner :) Also I like Chris Christensen cosmetic. When my dog was a puppy,I had washing with Iv San Bernard talco shampoo and conditioner this is special for pups. |
Vellus Awh I saw that advertised in the last Yorkie Magazine. How do you like her product(s). Have you used the anti-static stuff? I read that she doesn't believe in oiling the coat between washings - that this oiling can create little cottoney type balls in the hair. Do you have an opinion on the great debate - To Oil or Not to Oil...:) |
I don't think that oil can make those cottoney balls, sometimes palm oil make coat like brown ;) |
