Years ago my DH had a co-worker who had more than one male and they all marked everywhere. He talked about it all the time and long before I had my Yorkies whenever I talked about getting one DH said "get a girl." I would probably get a little boy, they are so cuddlely but not sure I can ever get him over that man with his "wet boys!" |
New Word For The Day: PEE STRING! Quote:
As much as I love fostering for YTNR, I am convinced this is part of the reason for such high numbers of males who end up being surrendered or abandoned. :( If it weren't for the life-saving "belly-band"...I'd probably only accept females but, after a couple weeks of having their willies covered...they stopped! My son especially appreciated the "belly-band" which protects his expensive computer paraphernalia that one lil' foster Yorkie :animal36 boy took a special liking to. |

Don't anybody tell my 3 :aimeeyork:aimeeyork:aimeeyork girls about that new trick....that's all I need! |
I have this problem with my Lane (female), but not Rory (also female) and they both go on pads. I do wipe her down with baby wipes after she goes, but she definitely needs a bath on bath day. I'm so intrigued to learn if a pee string will work for female now. |

Hmmm, Winston goes to a groomer and I have always wondered why she left that long string of hair on his winky...now I know. LOL!!! |

Man, the problem I'm having with the pee string is that it's pointed right at his fur in front of the pee string! I have ordered "The Stuff" and will tell you how it all works out. I've also ordered "Quicker Slicker" and "Cowboy Magic" so far I've tried Cowboy Magic and it's a great detangler, and smells amazing! not sure it's supposed to get the urine to roll off but it's much easier to brush him out. |
Now I have been cutting the pee string off of Max so maybe I should let it stay? Does it smell after awhile? I give them a bath once a week. And when we go for a walk Ivy marks as much as Max does:rolleyes: Do all girls mark so much?? It takes forever to go for a walk. Good thing for her pink bows because you would never think she was a girl.:p |

There IS a product that can be purchased that does help between baths. It is called Miracle Air All Natural Odor eliminator. (made by Chris Christensen) We use this product and it is safe. In addition to Miracle Air, we will do "butt baths" and "weenie washes" in between weekly baths. :D Here is a shortcut to the website. Miracle Air |
In addition to Miracle Air, we will do "butt baths" and "weenie washes" in between weekly baths. :D I was going to say this too...although I have a girl and one that doesn't mark, I still wash her business, front and back, with a puppy wipe daily at her grooming sessions. She's a low squatter too and will occasionally lift a leg. I never smell urine. |
