Grooming questions, Some specific to San Antonio

So I have a few questions regarding groomers.

The first is: Do any groomers actually let you wait and see your dog get groomed? I've never seen one, but I'm not an expert with this. I'm guessing they don't because it would be too distracting for the pup?

I was also wondering what groomer those living in San Antonio liked?
I recently tried Pink Poodle (in the Brook Hollow shopping area with HEB) and I really liked the service. They gave my pup an adorable cut, were friendly and reasonably priced (about 35 dollars total for hair cut, cleaning ears, cutting nails ... everything). When I went to pick my pup up, one of the ladies there did tell me one of the other pups got anxious and one of the groomers accidentally cut the pup so they rushed her to the vet, which is why they were a little behind.

When I heard this, I thought it was very responsible of them to take the pup to the vet (which of course they should have) and very transparent of them to tell me. What do others think? Has anyone heard anything about Pink Poodle?

The only other groomer I'd ever been to was the one in PetSmart. I only went once, but when my pup came out, she walked wobbly and it worried me that they gave her something. When she came out of Pink Poodle, she was wide-eyed and alert. I've heard that PetSmart, along with any groomer, isn't allowed to give pets anything, but I figure there's no reason to take chances.
