Another grooming gone wrong 2 Attachment(s) I said "Do not cut any hair off the face, except the tips of the ears"!!! I am heart-broken:( |
awe! your baby still looks cute as a button!!!!! I am sorry you don't like it, but just think, it will grow back! Im reading on here more and more about horror stories about grooming, and i'm just in shock. I used to work as a grooming assistant, and the groomer i worked with was AWESOME, and really was great with every animal that came in there, I wish I could have you all go to her, and not be so leary about groomers! :aimeeyork |

They did a number on your baby, didn't they? Still cute, but I'd be mad, too. |
I agree with the others, still an adorable baby. And, it will grow back quickly. But why do they not listen?? Do they not know any other way than to cut too much? It's kind of like going to your hairstylist, many of them seem so scissor happy!:( |
You poor thing!!! Still a cutie....but man that was a total face trimming!!! I sure hope you didn't pay them.....or at the very least got a big, big discount! They did not do the job you "hired" them to do. I would be furious! All these stories like this (in addition to the Yorkies I've read about that have died while at the groomers) is what keeps me from leaving Bella there. I've found several that have said I have to drop her off, but I found one that will do it while I wait.....and they do an AMAZING job AND are much cheaper than a lot of the others! I'm so sorry you had a bad experience, but it WILL grow back! Just think of this as just one of the many bad haircuts most people get over a lifetime  |
:( aww....it will grow back, and your baby is still pretty! If you ever use that groomer again, tell him/her....Yorkie, not Schnauzer! |
I do not even recognize her. She had a dark face when I left her, now it is gray. Such a shock... I almost had enough hair for a top knot. |
If they don't know how to cut a yorkie then why do they try. Idiots!!! She's so precious, it will grow back but I know, believe me, all about bad groomers. I got Coco done last week and they did a beautiful cut on him except I didn't ask them to cut off the edge of his ear. Now he is permenantly disfigured. I don't show him but still what the heck??? So sorry your little baby had a bad haircut. I'm going to try it myself next time. They are not butchering my babies ever again!!! |
sorry about your baby. I had the opposite problem the last time I took Tucker. They didnt really do anything to him and charged me the same as they would for the works. I am taking him this weekend to a lady that said I can stay with him if I want because she is just doing a hygenic grooming and it wont take that long. I was very pleased that I get to stay this time. Hopefully now I will be able to get what I want. |
Are these groomers people with English as a second language? I'm not trying to be funny here. Perhaps it would be better to type or write it out. At least then you'd have a paper trail. I just can't imagine not being able to follow the directions you gave! Your Yorkie is still as cute as can be but I understand your righteous anger. I'm still wondering if a chop cut (which I would undoubtedly do) would be better than a botched job from a paid groomer. In the grand scheme of things, I know hair will grow back but that doesn't help the stress and high blood pressure during the growing months. |

Geez, that is not AT ALL what you asked for! |
He is still cute, but they should be fallow your instructions and not to mention that the cut look uneven. Don't worry it will grow back fast. Time to change groomer... |
Been there, done that and feel your pain. Haircuts that I didn't specify from groomers is the #1 reason I now groom my dogs myself. Straw that broke the camel's back....I had written instructions, pictures and took her 5 times do not cut ANY hair on his head. I couldn't have been any plainer. |
I kept receiving a schnauzer cut for my girl, so I went on Amazon and got a pet grooming video and a clipper set and started grooming her myself. It was less stressful for her because I could love on her between clips and she finally started enjoying her grooming time. Your baby still looks adorable, but I would be frustrated too. |
I experienced that exact same things a couple of times, and then decided to groom Sadie myself. Yorkies are really very easy to groom yourself. Just trim the tips of their ears, their foot pads and nails and their little butts. It's a LOT less stressful for you and your baby to groom him yourself!! |

HI, so sorry about the butcher job, I would be furious and they would know IT. I would call and talk to the Owner/Manager and demand my money back ! Next I would get a video and clippers and DO IT YOURSELF, it's not hard. Then take the $45.00 and go out on a date with your hubby or out with the girls and have a great time.... Do that as often as you would normally have him groomed.. Have a great day and go get them!!!!!!! |
If only these groomers would let us stay and watch (aka..keep an eye on what they are doing!). Mine looked horrified when i suggested it, and then Molly came home with a big nick on her back leg. I groom Molly myself now and would recommend it to everyone. Do it slowly and in stages...it gets much easier the more you do it. |

I am finally happy with a groomer, but the very first time I took Precious to a groomer I said just just give her a trim I want a yorkie cut. And when I picked her up she was completely SHAVED!!!! I freaked out right there & started screaming! Then this lady comes from the back & said she was matted!!! I said like hell she was, I brush her twice a day & there was not 1 single mat in her coat!!!!!!!!!! I opened the cage, took my baby out & walked right out of the store!!!! Never to go back again. And I tell everyone I know DO NOT GO TO THAT GROOMER! Now my new groomer always does exactly what I say & if there is any kind of question calls me. This one is great I love her! MOMMY TO PRECIOUS:aimeeyork |
I feel bad this happened, you must be so disappointed, although she is still cute! There is a groomer I will try out when Noelle is old enough, I have seen her work on several Yorkies. If it doesn't work out one time, I'm going toget a video & train myself also! |
I have to say that my groomer is fantastic and does exactly what I want, I dont get her cut because I am growing out her hair but she get's the bath, nails trimmed, brushed, cleaned up in her "female areas" I do get around her eyes trimmed.. But my groomer Cindy knows not to cut her face!! she even writes it down on Lily's "card" with her info on it.. just as a reminder! maybe your groomer could also make a card up of what you DON'T want done! :) |

It's not difficult to groom yourself your own yorkie. She or he is more costumed with you as with other ppl,so you can ask to stay till you are cutting the nails, the hairtips and the hair of the hear. Also you can much easyer clean the hair from inside the ears as well. Maybe the first...second time ,it will not come out how you wish, but doing it often, will be better and better. Do not have to forget that" Exercise is doing the master!" ;) Ps.It's something else with the showyorkies....but do not ever forget: Noone was born to know everything from the start,we can learn many things,if we want.:) |
Well, It shouldn't be very hard to start learning to groom her myself - Since she doesn't have any hair left on her body. It is slick and naked. LOL And maybe if I use a nail file daily when I am brushing, I won't have to have her nails trimed either. (right not I don't feel confident enough to trim her nails, as she is such a wiggle worm) I do have a trimmer left over from my other dog. I used to trim him up a little, but he was a much larger dog. |

I don't have a problem cutting some hair off the face, but I have to agree with you on this one. It looks like they tried to give your pup a Schnauzer face instead of a Yorkie face. It's like the grass it grows back. it'll be ok. |
She is still adorable! As others have said... it will grow back... I do notice though that there are some "stray/uneven" hairs on the left side of her body (right side of picture).... on the ear and the leg/foot. It took me awhile to find a groomer I like... she still sometimes "does her own thing"... but at least I like the results. ;) |
i have to agree with the others - your baby still is adorable! :) even a bad haircut did not change that ;) i am lucky i found a wonderful groomer (i only take one of my kids to get groomed - the others i do myself) ... she got her first haircut around 13-14 months so her hair was really long and i took a picture of what i wanted...well they did exactly what i wanted but at first it was such a shock, i think my face did  for a split second lol :p ... it was just such a change ... after it set in i realized how adorable she looked and how much i loved the haircut please make sure and reassure your baby you still think they are beautiful...miss buffey seemed embarrassed for a while (probably when i was still in shock lol) until i kept telling her how beautiful she is and how wonderful her haircut looked! then she started trotting around like she was hot stuff :D ... i really think our furkids can sense how we are feeling and it is important that we let them know we always think they are beautiful ;) |

The nail file is not a good ideea for the dognails, coz as we all know, they have stronger nails als we,humans.I clip 1 time/ month for every dogs of mine, generaly after the bath. So it will be much better,if you will start to get him costumde with that operation ;) from younger age.If you were not living on the other side of the wolrd,i maight showed you :p....but is not the case....but i'm sure ,if you are going to a groomer and you will '' try to steal some grooming tips" it will go easy. Just take it easy,do not be nervouse when you are grooming your dog,coz the little creature will feel it and than you will be in trouble. Good luck :) Friendly Eve |
