How often do you bring your Yorkie to the Groomer? My Rocky had his first hair cut at the end of December. I give him his baths in between but he is too fussy for me to cut his hair. I am too afraid I will hurt him because I don't really know what I am doing. I want to know how often you bring your Yorkie to the groomer to get groomed. Thanks everyone. |
Harry boy goes to the groomers every 6 weeks, his hair grows like a weed..specially his visor is always by his eyes.. and it bothers me and hubby more than I think it bothers him..LOL hugs, cArmen in nj |
i only take miss buffey to the groomers (because she has cottony hair that is really tough to cut with my clippers) ... i take her every 12 weeks but could probably stretch it out to 14 or 16 weeks because i have her in a really short puppy cut :) |
6 to 8 weeks apart |
Thank you so much girls. I brought Rocky for his first haircut December 23rd. My husband and I are going to visit his mother Presidents week because we have off. I wanted to get his second haircut before we went up but I wasn't sure if that was too soon. It will be like 7 weeks in between the haircuts. He is also getting neutered February 6th so I would like to have him nice and handsome before we go up. :) |
About every 8 weeks. Ben's hair grows really fast, and I hate when he looks scraggley :p |
Every 3 to 4 mos |
I take Dymond every 2 weeks but she does not got trimmed every time. |
About every 8 weeks. |
I groom all my girls myself but i do take them about every 4-5 weeks for a nail trim. I won't do that myself...too scared! I have a groomer friend that does them for me for $5/dog. I keep all my girls' hair short since they love wearing clothes. :D |
I do it myself about every three weeks, or as needed. After reading the comments on YT, I'm afraid to take him to a groomer. |

I bring Piper every 6 weeks to the groomer. I also will bathe her at least once between each grooming. When I pick her up I always make her next appointment. |

milu needs to goes to the groomer once a month. she can go without longer if they cut the hair a little shorter, then it an probably last a little longer. i think it really just depends on how you like the way your baby to look. i like to keep milu's hair short. so i take her more often. you can always just take her once every two months for the full grooming, and take her in between just for the nail trim. :) unless you can do that one yourself which would be even better! :) |
I last took bailey to the groomers back in Aug last year, then i started to do it myself. Last week he went to the groomers as he had a few matts i could not get out in his hair. She was annoyed at me. I was a little shocked and thought she was a little cheeky. Her words to me where '' You know bailey has not been groomed since Aug'' i said i know i have been doing him myself, she then said ''well he should come in and get him groomed really'' I think as i am only 22 she thinks she could talk to me like she knows better. Then i was ready to go pick him up and she rang me to ask me to give her more time as bailey was hyper. She said ''i think its the food you must be feeding him on'' well i get my dog food from the vet, she them questioned which kind of food am i feeding him an i told her 'hill's science plan dog food' she then said oh ok it cant be that then as she feeds her dogs on that. I now feel like i do not want him to go back to the groomers at all!! I hate it when people think you cant look after a dog as u are young, or they seem to look down on you and think they know better!! HAHAHA what a rant :) urm in answer to your question lol it was 4 months now i am gonna do it myself LOL :D hehe xxx |

i don't know how to groom milu because she gets so scared, then i get so scared! lol i am lucky though i finally found a groomer that i can trust! it's really important and it really makes the grooming a lot less stressful for both you and the dog. i was at petsmart the other day, and i met another dog owner in the parking lot. we were talking about our doggies, when i noticed that his dog was shaking badly inside his car. i asked him if the doggies was ok, and the owner told me that the doggie is really scared because he knows he's going to the groomers. i felt SO BAD for the doggie!!!! :( he is only in the parking lot and he is shaking like that! so i told the owner the groomer milu goes to, and told him he should try to go to her. i hope he does!!!! for the poor doggie's sake!!!! |

what i used to do is i would bring a picture of how i would like milu's hair to be cut, and show it to the groomers and explain and ask if she knows what i mean. (i just took milu's baby picture lol :p ) the groomer did ask me, is that her? lol i said "yup!" :D |

Bella gets one, on average, about ever 2-3 months. More towards the 3 month mark, though. |
Aw thanks, yeah i was kinda upset more than anything i just hate people thinking i dont look after bailey right as i am 22, and making judement on me. Bailey is a sweetie when i groom him he gets used to it. It takes me like 2 hours tho. I dont do the best job but he looks clean and tidy and i am sure over time i will get better at it :D I stared doing it myself as i could not afford to take him the groomers or i have to admitt i probs wud have just taken him. I am glad now tho that i have started to do it, another thing i can bond with him while doing :D:D |

it is really good that you started grooming him! because like you said, it is a good bonding experience and you know, it WILL get easier and faster! :) i wish i could groom milu, but she just shakes, and then it makes me start sweating and shaking too because i become very nervous too! LOL i am sure you take GREAT care of your baby. love doesn't require you to be a certain age to know how to 'properly' care for your babies! |
Thank you for all the comments. :) |
Mine go to the groomer every 4 weeks. I went to so many groomers before I found one I was comfortable with but I finally found "the one".:p |
Winston has a fantastic groomer, that treats him very well...he sees her on an every 2 weeks schedule. He always looks the same, never really has that new haircut look, I don't really know how she does it...but I love it! |
today was madisons first visit to the groomers. she just had the little puppy package :) riley goes about every 8-12 weeks because his hair is very very soft & silky and it doesn't grow very fast or mat that bad. today he just got his paws cleaned up and his face trimmed up a little and his ears of course. |
I am doing about every 6-8 weeks, Sams hates to be combed and he has the cotton fur and mates easily. |
