I am not sure about plucking hair from their ears because my Yorkie's ears doesn't have a lot of hair which is a good thing and I clean his ears after bath with Oticalm each time so its all good. About grooming your Yorkie yourself, well I do mine myself. Had a few horrible experiences with different groomers and I had enough so I do my own now. I started with clippers..now I just use layering scissors that were meant for human hair and Wahl moustache trimmer for light clipping and I like what I see. I started with doing a little and stop and look to see if I like what I did and go from there. |

I ues a "peanut" from Wahl. Small easy to hold clippers for our little ones. I took Dudley to the groomers today becasue (only been 2x) i wanted a visor cut and there was no way i was doing this on my own, :cool:he had topnots prior to this, but he turned out just as cute as ever!!! |

Thank you all! Is it okay to use johnsons, No more tears, hypoallergenic baby shampoo on her? A friend of mine that works in walmart, said that her vet told her that babyshampoo wont dry out her skin as much. Her vet said, that because dogs really shouldnt be bathed more then 5-6 times a year (Because it can dry out the skin) And because yorkies tend to need to be bathed very often (once every week to 10 days) that normal pet shampoo would dry it out too much, and baby shampoo wouldnt do that.. Anybody use baby shampoo on your yorkies??! |
They need pet shampoo because it is ph balanced for dogs. There are plenty of really mild shampoos that can be used. Hypoallergenic shampoos and soap free shampoos, like Oatmeal are great for using more frequently. Also make sure to use a mild conditioner or creme rinse. |

its really not that hard, just requires lots of patience. go get yourself a book about grooming or research it online. ears, around the eye, anal area, trimming feet, nails, and bath are the basics, just be real careful, do a lil bit at a time, and keep praising your pup, after a while, you will get the hang of it ;) |
For shampoo I use a product call LEA POUCH it is base out of New York!! But I love it!!!!!:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup: |
