Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry. I hope he gets better soon. I worry about that myself. |
WTH..could she have been using on your baby to cause this?! I'm so sorry this happend and feel really badly for your pup but I would really like to know. Hoping the healing process goes well. Puppy hugs from Gizmo and I.:animal-pa |
Poor Rex:eek: When I first read your post I wasn't thinking about anything like his picture! I think that is just inexcusable and I'm with you - I wouldn't take my baby back either. Hugs and kisses to Rex from Lucy and Rebel:kiss2: We hope he heals quickly. |
I'm with BubblPopElectrc ... it really sucks, he could have jerked while she had some tool in her hand ... or maybe she looked away for a minute. That is an awful cut :( ... I've been thinking about home-grooming Benny when we get him ... not sure what I'm gonna do yet ... On another note ... HOT DAMN WOMAN! You take him in every week!? What do they charge there!? I think I was paying $35 for Mogli ... that'd be $2k/yr ... And on that note ... there wouldn't even be much to cut, figure they'd have him done in about 15 mins ... *shrug* ... get well soon bud! I PM'd you I PM'd you about something I could UPS to you that may work as a gentle harness for little Rex. |
Stuff like this is my biggest fear. I have heard of ears being cut off, dogs being strangled by the noose, etc. That is why my 5 yr old has been to the groomer once, my 4 yr old and 6 month old - never! Not worth something happening. |
Wow. I can not believe that cut, he could have died. WOW. I'm glad he's ok. I can't imagine going through what you must have. Poor lil' guy. :( |
Jeeze how did she manage to do that. Wow I feel so bad for him. Time to learn yourself and do it. I find it better that way. Cheaper in the long run as well since you can do it on your own time schedule. Glad to hear though that he is ok. |

OMG!!! Really? I have never even thought about that. I've taken my pup in once, now after reading all of this not sure I will take him in again. I would be absolutely beside myself if anything happened to him. My gosh.....:cry8: |
I am so sorry to read about this - good grief, that cut is HUGE - did she explain how it happened?!! I would have been out of my mind with worry and very angry and upset. A small cut is bad enough and it could happen, but a cut THAT size is inexcusable. You have certainly made me think twice about getting my furbaby groomed. Hope he heals quickly and give him a cuddle and a kiss from me. Luv Franceen |
How awful! I'm glad he is going to be okay. He is preceious. Hugs from me and Lucy. |
Poor baby, I feel so bad for Rex:(. That must have been so scarry! I'm glad the groomer volunteered to pay for the vet. I Agree with another post, accidents happen sometimes and I'm sure he/she feels horrible. I would be devastated if I were a groomer and did something like that. I'm praying for a quick recovery! |
Wow that is really bad. I am so sorry. I hope Rex gets better soon. I groom Katy myself. |
omg that looks really bad...i feel for him...it has to hurt...sorry that you had to go thru that |
Hiw in the world did that happen??? I groom my own... but at least she called you and he got help! I bet she feels real bad.:( |
Wow!! that's a nasty cut. Did she say how it happened? I hope he gets to feeling better soon.:animal-pa |
"Right now they are offering $15 off your total of at least $100. And there is free shipping over $50. So for those looking for a full size grooming table this is your chance...i only wish i had waited to purchase my grooming table from them....but i am going to see what else i can buy from them...hehe...just wanted to share this deal with everyone on YT..." This was a quote from someone that posted a thread on Walmart about a sale they were having.....so I thought that maybe Rex's mom would be interested. It was from a YT member with a lot of xxxxx's in her login name but I can't remember it right now. :animal-pa |
WOW! That is a big cut..... I feel so bad for your baby.... I groom mine myself because I have always been afraid to leave them with strangers.... Hope he feels better really soon..... d |
Poor baby. I would never take mine to a groomer after that. Slade HATES haircuts but our groomer always seems to do a great job with him. |
FYI-- Rex is running around like his usual self! (staples are still in, though) |
Poor baby. I am glad he is doing ok. I have always used groomers for my dogs when I only had one but with 4 I do them myself. Cali is the only one who occassionaly goes to a groomer to get cleaned up. I just do the best I can and learn as I go along. It's only hair and will grow back so if I make a mistake it's only temporary. Just get good tools and a table. I am so sorry this happened to you and Rex. |
Sal would like to send his love to Rex The Baron family will keep him in their thoughts and pray for a speedy recovery. |

good luck - that's very VERY bad and the groomer should feel just terrible...man - I've been thinking of getting Chanel cut really short for the summer and my just have to try it myself... I hope he feels better soon...... |
wow-thats a heck of a gash! i wonder how she did that(with scissors??). Poor thing, im glad he is ok.. |
I would be very upset also, but like others said, accidents happen. Im glad that Rex is going to be fine though! My groomer used clippers on my boys and about 2 days later I noticed one of my boys had an infection I took him to the vet and he got on antibiotics, the vet said it was clipper burn and he had to wear an e-collar for 10 days... it was pretty bad. I called the groomer to tell them and they apologized but did not offer to reimburse me or even pay the vet bill, nothing! $150!! I was kind of mad, but I know it was not on purpose and they do a good job grooming them. I had to let it go at that, accidents happen. Im so glad Rex will be ok though and you have one BEAUTIFUL boy there! Hes gorgeous! :) :) |
Oh my gosh, that's horrible. :( Poor baby and poor you. I would be mad also. I know for sure he wouldn't ever be going back there. I feel bad for him, he's probably going to be scared to death the next time he goes to a groomer as well as you will be also. Hugs to Rex & you. :big_hug: |
what was she doing to cause that kind of injury??? i know i am naive(sp?)but i thought they used clippers for that area??!!! |
Oh my heavens what a gash in poor Rex. I can't imagine what the heck she was doing to make that happen. I am sure she felt terrible about it. At least I would hope so. I am glad he's on the mend. Believe me, he won't forget about it either. He probably will never go back even if you wanted him too. I am glad you'll be grooming him yourself from here on in. It's not that hard. Little at a time and you'll do fine. Lot's of us have started ourselves so you will get all the help you need. Plus there are several DVD's out to help also. Hugs to Rex |
I missed this until today and tried to read it all but never saw what the groomer was using on him. I have a mobile groomer and will be watching her in her window next week. This is awful. |
