Is there really that big of a difference?? I am looking into getting a pin brush and have heard lots of good about the Chris Christensen pin brush..... my question is...I am seeing lots of "pin brushes" and they are a LOT less expensive than the CC one...is there THAT big of a difference? and if so...any advice on where to get one for the best price??? |
another questions... what size should I get???? 20 mm pins 27 mm pins 35 mm pins |
I am wondering that too. Sammy is cut short now but I still brush her and I need a good one for blow drying. Right now I just use my own hairbrushes on her. |

Are you going to see yorkiesmiles again this week? Ask to see hers....she has one, and with Bubba's beautiful hair, I would doubt she'd leave home without it! :) |

I CAN tell you that I tried hers on Emma & Milli when Bubba & Roxy stayed with us for a weekend, and it didn't work at all in Emma's cottony thick hair. It worked pretty well on Milli's, which is a much silkier, but not as silky as Bubba and Roxy's hair... |

brush If you are not trying to maintain a show coat, if your Yorkie is clipped or just a nice "at home" coat, save your money and buy a $5 pinhead from Sally's or Walmart...I use the cheap ones all the time and save the good brushes for grooming a show coat...I have had the rubber head rot from brushing a wet coat...and I broke the handle in half on an expensive plastic brush grooming soft coated clients. |

This is the difference between an inexpensive pin brush and the CC brush, which by the way I use on all three of my girls and one has VERY thick cotton coat. The cheaper brush can actually "pull" the hairs out of the dog. You many not feel it pulling but they do. This is because of the way the pin is made. It's like taking the straight pin and just putting the tiny round tip that has a tiny hole in it, down on the pin. The hair catches under the tiny tip where the pin and ball meet. The CC brush pins and ball tip are just one piece, not two. I hope I have explained this right. You will also need a slicker brush to help with any mats. |

sooo..now...where is the best place to buy one...and what size?? :D |
2 Attachment(s) I swore by the CC brushes for years until I was recently introduced to the Madan pin brush. They are a well kept secret among show people and hands down the best brush I have ever used. I sold my brand new Fusion brush after I got my Madan and retired my Gold Series brush. :D The great news is that they are a lot less expensive. They are normally just sold at shows, but Lainee carries them: http://www.laineeltd.com/cgi-bin/lai...ml?id=MNbmDqpB Most of us get ours from a member on Spoiled Maltese. Cindy sells them at shows. They are only $16.95 through her. Her email addy is c.fernking@comcast.net |
pins I do not suggest a covered pinhead...straight pins, no head. |
