Is there really that big of a difference?? I am looking into getting a pin brush and have heard lots of good about the Chris Christensen pin brush..... my question is...I am seeing lots of "pin brushes" and they are a LOT less expensive than the CC one...is there THAT big of a difference? and if so...any advice on where to get one for the best price??? |
another questions... what size should I get???? 20 mm pins 27 mm pins 35 mm pins |
I am wondering that too. Sammy is cut short now but I still brush her and I need a good one for blow drying. Right now I just use my own hairbrushes on her. |

Are you going to see yorkiesmiles again this week? Ask to see hers....she has one, and with Bubba's beautiful hair, I would doubt she'd leave home without it! :) |

I CAN tell you that I tried hers on Emma & Milli when Bubba & Roxy stayed with us for a weekend, and it didn't work at all in Emma's cottony thick hair. It worked pretty well on Milli's, which is a much silkier, but not as silky as Bubba and Roxy's hair... |

brush If you are not trying to maintain a show coat, if your Yorkie is clipped or just a nice "at home" coat, save your money and buy a $5 pinhead from Sally's or Walmart...I use the cheap ones all the time and save the good brushes for grooming a show coat...I have had the rubber head rot from brushing a wet coat...and I broke the handle in half on an expensive plastic brush grooming soft coated clients. |

This is the difference between an inexpensive pin brush and the CC brush, which by the way I use on all three of my girls and one has VERY thick cotton coat. The cheaper brush can actually "pull" the hairs out of the dog. You many not feel it pulling but they do. This is because of the way the pin is made. It's like taking the straight pin and just putting the tiny round tip that has a tiny hole in it, down on the pin. The hair catches under the tiny tip where the pin and ball meet. The CC brush pins and ball tip are just one piece, not two. I hope I have explained this right. You will also need a slicker brush to help with any mats. |

sooo..now...where is the best place to buy one...and what size?? :D |
2 Attachment(s) I swore by the CC brushes for years until I was recently introduced to the Madan pin brush. They are a well kept secret among show people and hands down the best brush I have ever used. I sold my brand new Fusion brush after I got my Madan and retired my Gold Series brush. :D The great news is that they are a lot less expensive. They are normally just sold at shows, but Lainee carries them: http://www.laineeltd.com/cgi-bin/lai...ml?id=MNbmDqpB Most of us get ours from a member on Spoiled Maltese. Cindy sells them at shows. They are only $16.95 through her. Her email addy is c.fernking@comcast.net |
pins I do not suggest a covered pinhead...straight pins, no head. |
i have never used the CC brush but i have the madan pin brush (one pink and one blue :D) and we love them...the kids will sit there and let me brush them...it does not seem to tug or pull at the hair at all :) very little hair is on the brush after i brush them also it is more reasonably priced ;) |
I have a cc brush for chloe. Before that, I had a cheapo Petsmart brush. I definitely like the CC brush better! I have a smaller brush, but I think the pins are 27mm. |

It comes in one size only. It's a full sized brush, the size of the CC Gold brush. That's my only complaint.....why don't they make these brushes a little smaller? I promise you will love this brush. I'd had my Gold brush for years, since it first came out, and didn't think I'd ever find something I liked better! |
I have a CC 20mm and I love it! I can tell the difference, before i just used a comb... Just the other day my grandma couldn't believe how beautiful Lola's coat was |
I have the CC Brushes and we love them, Have the 27- Gold and the pocket Fushion, and have to say i prefer the gold, my two like getting brushed and fight who gets scratched..ooops mean brushed :D |

We have the 20 pocket fusion brush. We emailed CC and asked for help because we were getting confused with all the choices. This is the one they suggested and it's been working out great! |

My complaint with the Fusion brush is that it has the hard black pad instead of the soft pad recommended for single coated dogs like their Gold Series brush does. After trying the Madan, I now realize how overpriced the CC brushes are, especially since the coating on the pins wears off so quickly. I do know a few people who have sent them back and had them replaced when this happened, though. |

I ordered a madan and I am anxiously waiting for it to get here :D I am very excited to give it a "go" and see what all the "rave" is about with these brushes :D |
I got my Madan brush yesterday and I think I like it :D I don't really have much to compare it to other than my comb I have been using...and it is much better than my comb ;) but yep....it worked very nicely!!!  |
