Is it Ryanspet.com that you are referring to? Do you have to be a professional groomer or do they sell to the public?
Thank You for explaining about the blades, because that was confusing me!
I was reading the sticky at the top about grooming and it says if you keep a Yorkie in a shorter cut, you should maybe leave to the professionals!
I was starting to feel encouraged after watching all of Marci's videos, so that made me a little nervous!

as for the grooming table,, i got the little round (pink) one,,which you can see in the videos she has posted as well,, and our Daisy is over 9 lbs..not fat,, just big Yorkie,, and there was room left,, I 'd think your 15lb-er would work on it too,, of course you can buy just a grooming arm if you have a table to use,, and of course, ,larger more expensive grooming tables as well

Thank You! Watching Marci's video is really what got us thinking as well! If this works for all of us, we really owe her for giving us the encouragement and the nerve to do this!
We don't have a table, so that would need to work for both!

Grooming
 
Out of desperation, I started searching the Yorkie boards for help in grooming Scooter. I'm so tired of spending hard earned money on groomers who do such sloppy jobs that I end up having to finish what they started. We like the teddy bear look and I think I can do OK on his body but not sure what to do with his face. He's 11, has eye problems and a collapsal (sp?) trachea which makes it difficult holding his head. I shutter to think what torture he has gone through being groomed. Any tips is greatly appreciated.

Oh poor guy! I'm sure someone can offer some good advice for you! It's hard when you are trying to do the best thing for your baby, but not sure of the right way to go about it! I'm hoping this will work out for us and I wish you the best of luck too!

Thank you so much. He's a rescue Yorkie and was 4 yrs. old when we got him. I don't know how anyone could give up such a sweet and loving dog. I downloaded his photo to member's galleries today. It's one with a bad 'do'.

Oh he has such a sweet face! I don't know how anyone could do that either! I can't imagine giving up my babies ever!

I just looked under Ryans Pet Supply and their site came up. No, you dont have to be a groomer or professional to order from them. I use them alot as they are based here in Phoenix, Az. I kind of taught myself to clip down my Yorkies at first. I then worked for a groomer for "free" as she taught me how to groom. But Yorkies are very easy to clip. They just need to be taught to be still. Good luck!!!

The sitting still part is a breeze for Wrigley, our small one. She never moves when you give her a bath, Crosley is another story!

Checking with Ryan's I see that they have quite a few different scissors to choose from. Which type would be the best for beginners, the curved or straight? I have the small ball-tipped for trimming around the eyes.
