Those are great videos, thanks so much for taking the time and making them to show on here. Before seeing them I had went and used clippers on Bella for the first time tonight. I had done Coco before, she has a cottony coat and Bella's is silky. I found it difficult to get the hair to trim at all it seemed the comb would push it down so I had to go against the growth sort of to get any off. All in all it came out ok, next time will be better though. I'm happy to see how you do between the paw pads because i've had a heck of a time figuring out the best way to do there. |

Thank you soooo much for posting those videos! It sure has helped me with my grooming! I even made Tessa watch so she could learn to stay still!:D |
Oh, you are so kind to do that for us! I feel like I know you both now! Love the table BTW! I think I am going to pet edge now! |
Marci, Your videos have been so helpful for me...I purchased the grooming table from Petedge and received it on Friday...I was able to groom Lil' Miss Izzie this past weekend and what a difference it made....although I'm still learning she doesn't look too bad...just the back of her ears are a bit choppy... but we both survived without any cuts... |
Marci bumping this up since I think your videos are so good. I don't groom Izzy (call me chicken!!) but I do comb/brush her every day. I also have that same pink grooming table from PetsEdge and love it. Layla is so good for you and I like how she wants to come up on the table to be groomed. Great job! |

just so you guys know this thread is going to become a Sticky... i'm grooming Layla this weekend and will show you how i do her legs (as asked by Edith) and i never did do how to pluck the ears or trim around the eyes. so hopefully that will also be helpful :) if anyone has questions or wants a specific video.. let me know :) Layla LOVES being on camera ;) |
How do you do between the eyes, right now Peanut looks like he has a triangle between his eyes and nose. Is there any easy way of growing this out or a better way of cutting. Thanks and I really found your videos very informative. |

Here is the video for ear plucking. I had no idea you even had to pluck their ears until my cousin's dog got a horrible ear infection and the vet said a great way to prevent it was to pluck their ears. I PROMISE this does not hurt them! Layla doesn't even flinch when i pluck her ears. I mention in the video you don't have to use the powder but i think it would be VERY difficult if you didn't. Also i try to do this a little bit each week so i don't have tons of hair to have to pull out. it will leave their ears red but that will go away shortly. Also i forgot to mention earlier.. everyone has commented on how well behaved layla is... PLEASE keep in mind this is after MANY grooming sessions at home with LOTS of treats and praise. When i cut her facial hair, she only gets a treat if she behaves (doens't jerk away) and now she knows if she stays still she gets the treat! |
Here is how i groom around her eyes. She was NOT cooperating so you can see the red of her eyes.. lol... that is the only way i can get her to stay still... i said in the video that i dont' do her "eyebrow" hair because i hope hope HOPE it will grow out.. lol... if anyone else has any other requests... id be happy to help :) i'll be getting a dremel in a few weeks if anyone is interested in seeing how that is done :) |
