| Pet Insurance?? What do you think of this? I was looking into it but it looks like it doesnt cover regular doc visits or boosters/shots? Is it worth having or no? Thank you! |

| You didn't say what insurance it is I have VPI. I chose the Superior Plan, it does not yearly visits, shots, flea meds or heartworm meds. I chose this one because I don't care about these things. I would purchase them anyhow and take him yearly for his shots. I wanted a plan in case of emergencies. Something that might arise that wasn't planned for. I got to use it for the first time last month. I have had this ins for 3yrs. Buddy hurt his leg somehow while I was not home. The vet charged me, for visit, shot of megacam, test for lymes(symptom is limping) and 1wk of anti imflammatory meds. Total was $207.00. Ins paid, after $50.00 deductable $112.00. I was very happy. The following week I took him back for a follow up visit. Total $65.00. Ins paid $47.50 with no deductable this time because it was the same injury. I pay $28.17 per month. I think it's worth it. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I also have VPI and have been happy with it. I have used it a lot for Cali, so much I was afraid they would drop us but they just renewed her again. I have all 3 of mine covered and I get a discount for multiple dogs. I think it is about 23.00 a month for each.

| I need to get it I need to get it as well and looking over a few companies VPI looked pretty good. I thought about getting the coverage that included the wellness exams but I didnt think it was really worth it....like for the exam fee they only give $30 for a total of $60 per year and $50 per year for bloodtests...just not worth it. Of course if your dog has any type of reproduction problem like pyrometra they will not cover it. ***For those that have used VPI and made claims did your premiums go up? |

| I spoke to the receptionist at the Vets office last night and she told me that Pet insurance isnt worth it because they dont cover anything in NY areas. She said that it would be better to put the money you would pay a month into an account for the puppy and pay for his stuff like that? Does anyone have insurance in NY and if so, what do you think about it? Is it worth it? |

| pet insurance through petsmart- it's worth it definetely get the insurance offered for pet smart at least for the first year; it was well worth it for me; i actually have it the second year too; because my little Ava is sick so often ;and you know yorkies are predisposed to few diseases and you don't want to take that chance. you can pay monthly or the whole thing at once; if you have a puppy get the basic plan that covers everything. good luck! let me know if you have any questions.

| not sure; maybe they have different services in nj then ny; go to petsmart or banfield website and check; you can also call banfield and ask them quesitons. just remember if you join; you have to remember before the year end of the service, you have to call and request cancelation or they will renew for another year automatically.

| We have PetPlan USA insurance for Milo. It does not cover routine stuff but does cover accidents, illness, and hereditary diseases. We have not had to use it, but I feel better knowing that it is there just in case. Here is a link to their website: Pet Insurance Dog Policies from Petplan USA I used this website to help me research the many different pet insurance policies out there: Pet Insurance Review - comparison of VPI, ASPCA, etc. Good luck! |
