In addition to the list above- I make a photocopy of my guys vet records in case of emergency. You never know if you can get hold of your vet. I keep them in a ziplock bag. |
If you take everything mentioned in this post your going to need a small U-Haul. :lol tears :lol tears :lol tears |
By Car When I travel with my dogs-I have a SUV and have a small playpen in the back. I Put a blanket and their pillow beds in it. They don't whine like when they are in a carrier. The playpen is small enough that I can pack my luggage around it. I usually put my folding yard pen on top of my car so when I stop some where I can let them run and not worry about them running off or getting loose from their leash. |
Mine don't eat right away when in stange place either. Sometimes at all the first day. Quote:

First we pack a little basket with paper towels natures miracle, wee-wee pads, doggie wet wipes, shampoo & conditioner, first aid kit, bottled water and dishes. Then they have their doggie-duffel with shirts, extra harnesses and leashes, comb, brush,Q-tips, tooth paste, tooth brushes, blankies, pillows and a stuffed toy and booda bimples. In a small cooler they have their home made meals all pre-packaged. |

Don't leave home without a CURRENT photo of your furbaby just in case the unthinkable happens and your baby was to get lost. Also if they are microchipped be sure and take the microchip numbers with you. Sonya |
I just went on an overnight trip down to southern california and my hubby and I had one little overnight bag...Kiwi seriously had like three bags of stuff! My hubby was laughing so hard when we were unpacking the car that he almost fell over! But I always take my AAA guide to traveling with your pet and it lists dog parks and dog friendly hotels for all over the US. Also, Kiwi's vet does a free laminated ID card that has a picture of her, all her vaccinations that she has had, any special medical needs, her microchip number, and the contact info for the vet. I always carry that in my wallet just in case! It is so cute it looks like a little driver's license! |
Don't forget to take your Vets phone #, But the most important thing not to forget is your furbaby. |
One more important thing... If we are going to be near water, we take their life jackets! If we go out kayaking, they will need those. |
