I probably want attempt to bring Jackson to ANY restaurant. He's too much of a begger. Plus, he's huge at 13 pounds and I do not wanna be carrying him around, lol |
There is a lot of dog being stolen from people car so you are going to have to eat fast food or make a lunch. |
If you choose to leave your dog in the car with it running, depending on your destination (where your mother is located), check to see city bylaws in regards to emissions--unless you have a solar powered a/c that Toyota had talked about creating. Since several years back, with the whole global warming concern, in my town, we have a "3-minute idle" law. They were even talking about border crossings requiring the cars lining up to turn their engines off. Besides having the A/C up, hope you also include a warm blanket and/or a heating pad because I know my girl gets chilled easily. ;) If you're sitting by a window and parked your car right in front of it, you will be able to monitor/guard your little one. :) |
1 Attachment(s) Fort Myers Beach has 2 bars/restaurants that are dog friendly....so we go there alot. It's great cause they are right on the water. Very Beautiful. We toss two beach chairs in the trunk and a large blanket, pack as much as we can into a cooler and supplement with stops at fast food restaurants. We arent beyond picnicing in the grass island of an Arby's drive through...but try to find slightly more pleasant stops.;) |
I dont think I could take a dog into a restaurant at all. I think its just a respect thing for other people who are eating. Not everyone is a dog lover and lots of people think dogs are dirty & some people are highly allergic. My mother has severe asthma attacks within minutes of being in the same room with dogs (even with no direct contact). I think the best thing to do would be to picnic, fast food (eat in the car) or eat at a sonic where you can sit outside. If you want a hot meal on the road, maybe you can order room service at the hotel your staying at. |
Yorkies are one of the hypo-allergenic dogs; they also don't shed. So folks who are normally allergic to dogs, aren't to Yorkies. That aside, fast food places are a good way - I've even asked them for an uncooked (raw) hamburger for the dogs so they can eat, too. And then there are the places with patios... And you're not limited to "fast food", either: Chili's, Appleby's, Outback and similar places all have "call ahead" places for take-out; just call them (or go up to the window and order) and you can have REAL food, too. Bella's relatively small, only 4 lbs. Puddie's a porker at 7.5 lbs. Either one will ride in a carrier purse, but Bella gets protective and barks if someone gets too close to me :rolleyes: :). So it would be difficult to sneak one in to a restaurant. |
If you decide to leave her in the car with it running, check the doors to see if they will lock. We have a new car and the doors won't lock from the outside when it is running. |

I have taken Allie in many restuarants/fast food joints and no has ever even known! She loves her bag and goes to sleep immediately when she is it so she has never even made a peep! |
