avatar help 1 Attachment(s) I downloaded some free shareware and tried creating my own animated avatar... not sure how I did it:p but I got it???? I previewed it, saved it as a gif file in my pictures. When I open the file and try to save as my new avatar it isn't animated anymore. What am I doing wrong? |
Hi :) Your file is too large: 98.78kb - dimensions 160 x 160. The allotted file size for avatars is 48.8kb - dimensions 125 x 125 Pare it down, and it should load. |
Oh thank you! :) I will have to try this again tonight when I get home. |
I was having the same problem and once I sized it down it worked :) |
Nice avatar, though! It can be difficult to get the size down. You have to use fewer pictures of lower quality. I can usually only get 3 or 4 pictures into a full-size avatar. Once you get close, you can reduce the size from 125 pixels to 115 or 100. |

So if I do fewer pics I can make mine at 125px x 125px? |

I'm going to try to resize but if I delete some of the frames, will that help with the file size so that it will work? TIA.:) |

Quality has something to do with it too, but I haven't figured that out yet. If I save my images as "low" quality on my mac's iphoto, I can sometimes get more photos into a 125x125 pixel avatar. But "low" quality doesn't equal dpi, so I'm not sure what it means. |
I give up! I can get it saved as my avatar but it still isn't animated. Even put it in photobucket and tried but still no animation. Anyone have a clue what I did wrong? I resized everything so I think that's okay. Thanks.:) |
