Thanks again so much for all of your well wishes and prayers. Jerry doesn't want anyone to come see him yet but my SIL said he looks so much better today and he feels better than he has in a long time. Those prayers are helping so much! I can't say thank you enough.

Thank you so much Kristin. He is in surgery now. I did go see him yesterday and I can see how tense everyone is. While I was there a nurse came in and said he could end up needing dialysis. That really set the mood for a cheery visit.

Praying for all to go well in surgery. Glad the doctors felt he was doing well enough to go ahead with it today.

Also glad that you were able to visit your brother. Very sorry to hear the news of the dialysis. Praying that it will not be necessary.

It is not unusual for dialysis to be temporary, kind of allowing the kidneys to rest or recooperate following an illness where the kidneys were assaulted.....so even if he does require dialysis post op, it could very well be temporary.....keep the Faith!

Thanks for your prayers and encouragement. I appreciate it so much. It turns out that the news is not as good as we had hoped for. I don't want to post details yet because he will not be told until tomorrow morning.

Jean, I am very sorry that the news is not as good as hoped. Keeping your brother, you, and your family in my thoughts and prayers that there will be light beyond the immediate challenges your brother faces.

Just when things look like we are facing impossible odds, we get a glimmer of hope. But it seems like a small glimmer. Please keep praying. It seems that there were signs of more serious illness for a year or more that he decided to ignore. So apparently this was not a case of the flu causing the kidneys to shut down. I appreciate all of your prayers. This is such a shock to the family.

Just now seeing this & I see the news is maybe discouraging now but praying hard for your dear twin. I can tell you love him fiercely. Nothing in the world like a sibling you grew up with, who knows you better than just about anybody and who is your best friend and like your clone is most ways.

It's a huge plus for him that he's got loving support, those who come alongside him and partner with him through this crisis so he doesn't feel alone in it, to pray for him and encourage him when he feels depressed or scared. Please stay strong and know we're all praying for healing for your brother now that he's in good hands.
