Sally, thank goodness Andy is on the mend, and doing so well. Hope things improve for your dad and your mom, and that you get a well deserved break. |
Sally, glad things are improving. We lurve you :ghug: |
Sally, I am hoping all is going well for you and Andy. Also, hoping your Dad is coming to understand he needs help from others who are physically able and trained in home caring. Hugs to you! :) |
Hi:) Hello Sally. Hope you and Andy are doing well and enjoying the Spring. Is Andy able to go for little walks yet or is he confined to the house? Praying that your mum and dad are also well and that your dad is more accepting of the new fangled stair lift and the pesky caregivers:) Love and big hugs to all. Dot.xoxoxo |
:) Good morning to my lovely ladies! :) Well firstly, Andy returned to work on Friday (reduced hours, 10-4) so that's good news! He was absolutely dreading it, said it felt like his first day back at school, but it was fine once he got into the swing of it all again. This coming week will still be 'part-time', then hopefully back to normal the week after. The weather changed the day he went back, quite chilly and rainy now, so I think that helped his decision!! Mum and dad are still wizzing up and down their stairs...and the district nurse is actually coming in twice a day (much to my dad's joy ). I really admire her - we know what he can be like! I have ordered some Bathlift brochures, and will get that organised as soon as he's read them all. I think Andy + I will have to take that installation over, as we did with the stairlift  We've carried on about walk-in wet rooms etc...but he won't have it (actually, neither will my mum - they both love their baths too much and don't really even like normal showers...) There's also a local lady that I've known for years, she does the cleaning/ironing etc. for several of the houses in our little Close, that I've approached....she would be more than happy to help them out. I shall arrange a meeting next week - that'll probably be the end of another beautiful friendship.... :D Oh, and I've also sorted them 'panic buttons' (that link directly to me or my sister in case of emergency?) - I know my mum will wear hers, but my dad doesn't even like wearing a watch, so we shall see...!!! Sorry to bother you all with all of this, but thought I'd best update you, after all your lovely thoughts and words :) Love and big hugs from us over here xx |
Sally, you have done an amazing job of keeping things running in 2 households. I hope things get closer to "normal" in the coming days and weeks. Sounds like you are all off to a good start. Thanks for the update, you are always in our thoughts and prayers. |
Andy Hello Sally. My oh my, how wonderful that Andy is going to work again. Yeh!!! What a time you have had these past weeks with all the trauma of Andy and then your dad. But you handled whatever came so calmly and managed to keep your head above water.....and keep smiling:) Now after all your hard work and patience it looks like things are looking up and working out. I hope that dad continues to get better and tolerates all the help he is getting in the home. Good luck with the bath project. But hopefully it will please your mum and dad when finished and make bathing safer. So now all seems under control I hope you will take time out for yourself, you need a rest and deserve a medal for your courage and endurance. Thanks so much for keeping us updated on your journey through life these past weeks. So happy the journey ended in such a good place. Love and big hugs. Dot, oxoxox |
Sally, I am catching up with all of your news. Oh my goodness, you have had your hands overflowing!! I am happy to hear you had a nice visit with the grandchildren, and that Andy has returned to work. Praying Andy continues to feel better and grows stronger each day. I was thinking of him and everyone who suffers back problems when I had my little back thing and was hobbling around. Mine was minor and disappeared, but my sympathy for other backs multiplied by a million! Your dad -- oh Sally, I am so glad he is back home after the big scare, and enjoying the chair lift. :D Dads can be so stubborn. Glad he hasn't completely banned the nurse from his home. He is lucky to have you as a daughter. Wishing you smooth sailing from here, and some relaxation time for you. |
OMG, Sally...OMG!!! This was all happening while my PC was crashing and burning and all suitable replacements were disappearing and unable to be obtained. I am relieved that Andy recovered so well...I know that was very hard, and very hard on you. You sure had your hands full with your sweet Andy, and mum and dad under the weather...and you sick, too! Good that Harry was there to see you through. So very sorry I was not in your court on this one, cheering you on. I would have been if I had working electronics...LOL OMG...what an ordeal! Many, many hugs and good wishes from this side of the pond, dear friend! |
