Grandson, Haden, needs Prayers!
 
My Grandson, Haden, was injured in PE yesterday afternoon. He has a small tear in his small intestine. Right now he's in ICU for observation He could use your prayers. Will update as more information is available. THANK YOU!

Healing prayers for Hayden. I will keep him in my thoughts and prayers and wait to hear of his recovery. Children do heal up fast and they are quite resilient and with the hand of the Lord upon him and the great nursing care around him, I hope he will be feeling better soon.

Jean and Sandy, thank you so very much for your prayers! We are waiting to hear from the specialist to determine whether or not he will need surgery to repair the tear or if his body will heal on its own.

Thank you so very much for your prayers. Don't have any news to report. Got a text from RG a bit ago saying that there aren't any changes. I'm taking that as a good sign - that our prayers are being answered and he's healing.

I pray there will be no surgery for Hayden. Yet if that has to happen, take comfort in knowing there are excellent doctors who know how to take care of problems like Hayden's. I do believe Hayden will come through this healed and be back on his feet. I will continue to pray that will happen for him. Keep looking up, the Lord Jesus is always at work granting favor to those who truly believe in Him and ask in faith.

I saw this earlier and went to prayer at once, asking God to heal him and send you and the family heartpeace for your little grandson. I didn't get to post right then but wanted you to know I've added myself to the prayer chain for Hayden. I'll keep praying until I hear that he is home and well on the road to recovery. God bless his young heart - may he recover from this injury, surgery and heal completely with no ill effects. Stay strong and update when you can.

Thank you for your prayers. They are definitely at work. Haden isn't completely out of danger yet, BUT he is resting comfortably.

Haden Update - He's out of Pediatric ICU!
 
Thank you so much for your healing prayers! Haden rested well last night and his pain is under control. The latest report is that he is comfortable except for the tube down his throat and of course not being able to eat. He will have another CAT-Scan on Monday to see how well the tear is healing. If the scan shows good results and his small intestine isn't leaking he may get to start on clear fluids. If all continues to go as well as they have so far :hands: then we expect he will get to come home next week.

From what I understood, Haden fell on the bleachers at school during PE yesterday. He is quite slim and DR's believe that the impact pushed his small intestine against his backbone causing the tear. WOW that's hard to believe!

Can't begin to tell you how much I appreciate your support and prayers!

Poor baby, that would be so uncomfortable, and those tubes can hurt for days after they are removed. He must be so hungry, that sounds like a rough ordeal. Sending more prayers and I hope the CAT scan offers great news on Monday.

Thank you Nancy, I know my bud IS hungry. When we get an OK from his docs, I'm going to cook something special for him -- whatever sounds good to HIM!

Thanks Jean! This morning's update was the best news I've heard in a long time. Haden is 15. I think I might have posted his age as 14 earlier in this thread, but he is 15 - learner's permit and all. He loves driving my Mini Cooper :D

Sounds like as good a report as is possible under the circumstances. Poor kid! How painful that must have been and still be but thank goodness for our Lord's good gifts and surgeons and crack ICU units who keep our loved ones safe during times like this. We'll keep praying and ready to hear he's released for home next week.

I will continue to pray for Hayden to be healed from this awful accident. I know that Angels surround him and it sounds like he is comfortable. So hard to be hurt and down at 15 . May that small intestine tear completely heal and Hayden be healthy and back at school with his friends.
