Desperate for Prayers My precious Julio (6 mos) had severe hypoglycemia and is now in a coma. His red blood cell count is higher than they've ever seen. His blood is like sludge. He was fine when he woke up and went downhill. He is at VRCC in Denver. Please stop to pray. I can't bear this. |
Praying for Julio. |

Sending prayers for Julio and you. |
Thx, everyone. Julio has a congenital heart condition called reverse PDA. His heart doesn't pump correctly and backs up causing sludge. There is a medication that can control it but the disease shortens his life span to 2 to 5 yrs. limited activity. Oh, how he loves to play. I don't know what to do. I have fallen so deeply in love in just three months, but will it be unbearably stressful having a dog you know doesn't have much time - knowing I'm going to lose him? What should I do? I'm devastated. |
I am so sorry to hear that// sending prayers your way |

My very first dog (I always had cats) was adopted from the Humane Society. Her name was Prissy and she was a true "mutt". And she was the smartest and most loyal dog around. At about the same age as your little guy, she was diagnosed as having a hole in her heart. This caused one side to work extra hard and gradually enlarged it until it failed. Prissy was given 2 years to live and I was warned that the more active she was, the more work her heart had to do so...well, you know. This is what you are dealing with. I made the decision that Prissy would live life fully...no matter what effect that had on longevity. My job was to make her happy while she was here. We lived in the country and she loved chasing animals. It was her favorite thing to do. She had a pet door to come in and out when she wanted. One night, we heard her bark, then yelp, then nothing. My husband went out and found her. She lived 3 years and she died doing what she loved..she had jumped from the porch to chase something in the night. I was devastated but I wouldn't trade those years and memories I had with her for anything in this world. Her life was short but it was full of love and joy and I know she was happy. Thinking of her makes me smile everytime. Hope that story helps in some way... |
What a great story of love and balance. to Julio's mom. Only you can make the decision, but at the end of the day to ME, it is about quality of life. If there medications that can help? Great. But, when the time comes - let it be okay if you can. I had a vet that helped us end one of our pet's suffering once say - I've never met a family that made the choice too son - but sadly many have said they waited too long. In any event - quality of life - is he happy? Is he enjoying treats and moments in the sun and with his toys and with his family? Is he out of pain? Good luck to you and prayers x10 over. Quote:

Sending prayers and love!! |
Praying for the best! |
dog You keep precious Julio. Only the Lord, his creator knows the number of his days. He is in your care, he loves you and trusts you. Say a prayer over him every day and be thankful you are chosen to receive his love. Do not worry about tomorrow. God gives us the strength to make it through when those hard times come. I would keep him and and love him and give him a happy life. |
Julio did not make it. He took a turn for the worst after a long, hard fight and I just couldn't out his little 3-lb body through anything more. I'm destroyed. My yorkie, Bijou, of 14.5 years died just six months ago. Julio was born on the day Bijou died and it seemed meant to be for him to be mine. Losing two of the loves of my life in one year is just too much to bear. Thanks everyone for your prayers. DeAnna |
Oh no! I'm so sorry... RIP Little Ones. So very sad... |
I'm so sorry. I can't imagine how hard it must be to lose two so soon. You're in my thoughts and I'm so sad for you. RIP little angel. |
So very sorry for your loss, sending prayer and a big {HUG} your way !! |
I am so very, very sorry for your loss of both pups this year. You will be in my thoughts and I pray that God will give you strength, peace and heal your broken heart. I do hope that you will feel ready to try giving your love to another one sooner rather than later. Hugs to you. Rest In Peace, Julio. |
Oh Deann, So sorry to hear of your loss. This has been a really tough year and I am devastated for you. Prayer for your strength. When you are ready you will open your heart again. |
dog I am sad reading about Julio going over the rainbow bridge . You were there for him and loved him. Nothing is harder in this life that to hand back those we love, our family, friends or our pets. I believe all life is precious and each of us, pets too, have our days numbered. When that time comes we go home. We must let go and let God have His way, His plan. We will all be praying for you at this time. May you feel the love and comfort we send surrounding you. |
I am very sorry for both your losses. Words can seem so inadequate to ease the avalanche of the pain we feel. Here are some words that brought comfort to me in my own loss. 'Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal. |
