Can I get some prayers sent my way In May I had to move back home from college to take care of my disabled mother, because her health is going down hill. I've been looking for a job that will work around my school schedule (I transferred to the community college in my city) and allow me time to take care of my mom too. It's just not working and I cant seem to figure it out. I did sell some of the dog pajamas I make to people locally, but the number of dog owners around here that allow their dogs to wear clothes are limited. Priscilla is beginning to sense that I am stressed and now she is just laying around all day. How can I not let my stress affect Priscilla? Thanks ahead of time! God Bless you all! |

Saying a prayer for you. Keep it in His hands. You are doing the right thing. It will work out the way it is meant to. Stressing doesn't help anything. Relax, breathe, and just go with it. What will happen will happen no matter what so don't stress. It isn't good for you OR Priscilla. If you need help to relax and laugh...get Priscilla to play with you. It's good for the soul :) |
I'm sorry you're going through all these things. And I believe that He will not make you go through things you can't handle. As hard as things are, He's just trying to help you become stronger. Have you tried reaching out to the local pet stores to see if they would let you advertise your custom made doggie clothes? Perhaps you can use winter coming up to your advantage. |
How about an etsy store or ebay or something like that? Hoping all will work out for you. |

You're a great person for doing what you're doing. Priscilla and your mom are very lucky. I know it's hard, but you really need to find a way to manage your stress. Stress can make you very sick. Focus on Priscilla, play with her, walk her, love her. Find different free things to do with her. If you need someone to talk to pm me. We're probably around the same age, I've been through similar stuff, and I'm into crafts too. |
Prayers and BIG hugs for you and your fur-baby. The suggestions about play are spot-on. Play also involves exercise which releases natural chemicals that serve to destress you both and elevates mood. In turn, giving you more energy for more play... a healthy cycle. Are there options for play dates near where you live? |
Sorry to hear that you are going through some difficult times. Saying prayers for you, your Mom and Priscilla. Our fur babies have a wonderful way of providing some great stress release as well as comfort. When my Mom passed away this past February, what really helped me was reaching out to my friends. I just needed someone to talk to, vent with, etc. My greatest comfort came from our Ragdoll, Charlee, and for a short time, our beloved Yorkie, Angel (she passed away two weeks before my Mom, ugh...). Their unconditional love provided some great stress release. Looking into those loving eyes, and just spending time with them helped a lot. Prayers going up for you, your mom and furkid..I know about the stress since I am caring for my brother that has terminal cancer,,,it isn't easy but hang in there and know that you are not alone..praying to give you strength. |

sending many prayers.....for you and your mom. you have to destress maybe try some yoga. have you tried maybe opening up an etsy account to try and sell your jammies. or fb i get alot of business there. just trying to throw out some ideas to get you more business. even a free blog at blogger showing off your stuff and sharing on google plus. wishing you the best of luck. |

I want to know how you get your pup to feel sympathetic for you, like my children my pups seem to be ingratious at times....I am so stressed over finances, mom and work right now that I honestly don't remember a time as difficult...the other day I was very upset and Mini and Vinnie started barking at me, I could be rolling on the floor hysterically crying and my pups will surely think I'm playing but honestly after a minute of that and they'd be barking at me to knock it off and get them another treat.....so do tell your secret. Your much too young to have such stress, live and let live, don't plan ahead right now, the future is too uncertain. Pay your rent/mrtg first, bills second, get on some budget plans with the utilities, cancel the credit cards and live within your means. If you really can't make ends meet, contact your local churches...they will help you with food even if not affiliated. Prayers sending... |

Thanks everyone!!! I have some loans to pay off from school and basic bills like cell phone, water, electric, and some others. My mom gets disability benefits but they aren't enough. I actually had an interview today at the college I attend :) I was so surprised to see the email telling me what times I could come talk to him. He sent me an email just a few minutes ago asking me what hours I can work, so hopefully I'll get hired! |
I would like to add something. I know a lot of people who are on disability can actually work but just don't want to. My mother is not that way. She has had several joint replacements, and a few years ago cut off her fingers on her left hand with a table saw, she also has some mental issues that were caused by a severe car crash she had. I just wanted to get that out there to squash anyone who might form an opinion that my mom is lazy. Just wanted to clear that up, not that I think any of you would do that. |
Praying for you and your mom. Sounds like she has had a very tough life and can use your help and support in any way you can. I know having a sick loved one can be very stressful, especially when young and just starting your own life. Sometimes parents do need us to move back home and care for them as it is getting harder to get help now. Many things are changing. Taking care of an older, disabled person can be a big lifestyle change and hard for many young people to do. Hope everything works out well for both of you. |

I'm trying to pay them off before I graduate. I had to take out about $50,000 to attend SCAD for a year and now since I went to a community college I didn't have to have any loans. I'm trying to pay them off so interest won't accumulate . |

Have you looked into any of the disability day care programs offered for you Mom to be in, most of them bring a person to the center and take them home, am familiar with your area, I believe there is some nice ones there.
