More special thoughts and prayers for our very special Yorkietalkjilly Jeanie is having eye surgery on her right eye tomorrow. While being in a great deal of pain from her back, Jeanie has also been trying to nurse little Tibbe back to health after a liver, gastrointestinal flare-up. I have attached below what Jeanie wrote almost two weeks ago after her surgery on her left eye. I pray that Jeanie's back pain subsides, that Tibbe heals fully, too, and that Jeanie's seventh eye surgery is just as successful as her sixth one on 8/22/13. Finally, I hope Jeanie's last surgery on the muscles in her right eye goes well in the future and that she can see all of the beautiful colors and scenes in high definition, just as she described two weeks go. I especially loved reading how Jeanie described seeing her beautiful Tibbe with a heart filled with such overflowing love for her sweet little boy. That really warmed my heart. Be well, my friend. "I wish the world could see as well as I'm seeing this morning! I had no idea my vision had gotten so bad and how slowly it must have happened. I thought my TV had gone bad it was so pale, couldn't hardly read books or internet and light reflected badly. This morning everything is in super HD, brilliant, jewel-toned and crisp-edged, finely detailed! Never knew the world was so beautiful. Even after cataract surgery with lens implants, it wasn't like this!!!!!!!!!! Everything is like a movie on the theater screen - so bright and intense and contrasting. Before, everything looked pale and not very clear. Downside: My house is dirty! I haven't been cleaning all that well as I couldn't see things that clearly! Ugh! And Oh, I'm way older looking in the mirror than yesterday before surgery! Upside: Everything else looks 3-D and beautiful. Tibbe is gorgeous! His eyes are deep brown and liquid and true. His fur is multi-colored and rich looking. And he's cute cute cute in all his features! I can even see his toenails from the end of the couch where he's sleeping! The backyard looks so pretty and green. I was watching a cooking TV show in HD a while ago and could see such detail it was just amazing it made me so hungry. Even could see the flour granules dusted along the edges! And that's just with one eye essentially as the right is legally blind and only has mainly peripheral vision with little undamaged macula and it's got the cloudy posterior capsule problem also. My surgery to correct it's capsule cloudiness will be in two weeks! Then the muscle-correction surgery on it a few weeks later and I won't see double as much, hopefully, and will have better depth perception. I really wish everyone could see like this - but, maybe you all can and it is just some of us that weren't able to!!! And I wonder if my vision will stay like this? I wish with all my heart it would. It would be so wonderful to get to see like this all the time. Even reading books may be possible again once the double vision is corrected more. Words jump off the page today whereas just yesterday morning the ink looked gray and pale, fuzzy. Now words are bright, distinct and easy to read if I didn't see a second of each word just a little above and to the right which is a little distracting(haha). Well, maybe that can get fixed too and I can see extra great before too long, even with that bad right eye macula. YT looks bright, crisp and easy to read. I'ts almost too bright! Never thought I'd say that but no real pale glare like I used to have! Wow. Modern medicine and praying people are an amazing combination. Thank you all for your prayers and caring and I'm so humbled and grateful can't even say how great this eye is!!! Now, if Tibbe will go ahead and get better - things will be amazingly fantastic." |
Jeanie has such a way with words. Just like you, Lisa. Thank you for the reminder that we should not take for granted the gifts we are given. I have never had eye trouble but can't imagine a world like the one Jeanie must have been living in. Her description of Tibbe's eyes and fur was beautiful! I hope all her surgeries go well and her pain be lifted. Oh, and that Tibbe be fully healed as well. They are both so special and deserve happiness and health! |
Keeping her in my prayers for a successful surgery, healing for her back and good health for Tibbe. |

How sweet! Just saw this on my New Posts. Thank you, sweet ladies! I'm so grateful for you all! Such sweet thoughts here. MADE MY DAY!!! Well, this surgery wasn't quite as successful as the left eye but I think more might can be done. Remember, that right eye is legally blind with macular damage anyway but at least the paleness is gone! It seems darker, dimmer and a little less crisp in the remaining vision right now but maybe that will clear. I was really depressed over it last night, even took 1/2 a 5 mg. valium about 5:00 pm and it knocked me right out last night so I slept most all evening and woke up at 2:00 a.m. wondering what was going on and kind of disoriented as I'd lost parts of the whole evening! Looked in panic for Tibbe and the little thing was right on my feet on the couch, all curled up in a tiny ball, warm, fuzzy and sound asleep! He'd taken care of himself all evening, put himself "to bed" and I let him outside to potty and we have a lovey-dovey session - you know how they are when you first wake up. So I went to sleep again and woke at 8:30 am today - pretty headachy from that pill. Tibbe has been a holy-terror this morning! He's on a tear of just living and enjoying feeling good again. Apparently I'm to have no peace today as he's been at me since I woke for something or the other - barking like crazy if he doesn't get an immediate response. He's standing up for his rights! I was gone a good part of yesterday and out a lot of last night so he's asserting himself for make-up attention!!! hahaha. I LOVE it. |
Hi Jeanie! So great to see you here today! I believe what you said about the sight may improve more in time after surgery. I am happy to hear Tibbe is doing so much better! |
Praying all goes well and I'm so glad you have such a good little nurse to watch over you as you sleep. He's just making sure you get up and exercise, like they would in the hospital, it's tough love! Sending healing prayers for you both. |
