We came home last night and I haven't called my MIL this morning. I am hoping she is sleeping. The hospital has been nice to her and even gave her an empty patient room to use because the ICU waiting area is full. Thank you for all of your helpful advise. |
Michelle... I am sending my prayers for you, your in-laws and your fil. Hang in there a lot of people are praying for you! |

Praying for you and your family and your FIL/MIL....just checking in for an update....I know you are at the hospital.....God bless you all, Michelle..... |
Michelle, I wanted to let you know I am keeping your FIL in my prayers. |
Hating to read this latest update! Sounds really tough right now. Is he mostly awake or asleep? I sure pray he's not awake a lot and suffering. Poor guy, I'll keep praying that his doctors can find out what's doing this and treat it successfully. He's really had a bad bad time of it. I know your MIL and the rest of the family are all pretty wild with fear and worry. Hoping that your next update brings some news he is better. |
I didn't go to the hospital today, DH and his sister and my MIL were there. They told the family to go home and get rest because they would not be allowed to visit while they were doing dialysis. My MIL went back around 7pm and they said she could go in to see him at 8pm. He tolerated the dialysis well, but they said he would be really tired and sleep a lot tonight. He has been resting well and does sleep a lot since Friday. The doctors are really puzzled, all cultures are negative for any type of bacteria. They cultered blood and several different stool samples. He isn't running a fever now but he was on antibiotics. They think that he must have just had a really bad stomach virus. I know last Sunday when we took him to the ER, there was a young man in there who was in really bad shape, vomiting uncontrollably. And yesterday the room next to where we were staying there was someone in the same condition. My FIL has regained some appetite, but couldn't eat today before the dialysis. Prayers that the dialysis is not a permanent situation. The Nephrologist said it was about 50/50 chance. |
Continuing to pray for you and your family! |
Just catching up. Wow so sorry he is going through so much. Sending many more prayers |
This sure sounds scary but at least he's got those odds. Bless this poor man's heart - he's had a terrible time. Life surely does throw some curves and he's had a bad few. I'm praying and waiting - hoping for a turn for the better. |
Still praying Michelle. Hugs my friend. |
Praying for your FIL to improve, and that he won't need dialysis permanently. He has so much going on at once. Praying for your whole family. |
Michelle, I know how hard this is on your whole family. I'm still praying & sending lots of positive thoughts your way. Hugs... |
Update on my FIL. He is tolerating the dialysis well, but he is so weak and tired. He isn't eating very much at all. He will be having a colonoscopy done because nothing is growing on any of the cultures, but he still has diarheaa. We appreciate all the prayers and thoughts so keep them coming, he sure needs them. |
