prayers the specialist can help your katie...stay strong. |
Checking in about Katie. Hope the specialist can help her.good thoughts and blessings for Katie |
We just got home. Katie is staying overnight. The radiologist did another ultrasound of her liver- no obvious masses. We're now waiting for the specialists to arrive in the morning (neurologist & one other that escapes me). They'll consult with each other around 8am and I should hear from them sometime after 9. The general vet I did see did not think the prognosis was great, but then she didn't know what was causing the symptoms, either. I feel so bad for her brother, Sweetie. They're littermates and they've never really been separated before. I know he's looking for her. My son and I are just exhausted and mentally drained. I may call us both off sick tomorrow. Thank you again for your kind words and prayers. I'm praying for a miracle for my little girl. |
Sending lots of prayers.... |

Sending prayers your way. I have 4 cats myself and after losing my last 3 before getting these ones I remember how tough it was seeing them not doing well. |
Keeping Katie in my prayers... along with the specialists. |
Praying for Katie. |
Praying that Katie is doing better today.....and you get a diagnosis that is favorable for her complete recovery.... |
No update yet... the internal medicine specialist is with her now, so I will hopefully receive a call shortly. |
i hope you get some positive news still praying for you kaite gina. |
Ugh, this is so frustrating! I've been waiting next to my phone all morning. Well, a voice message just popped up and my phone never even rang! When I called back, I was told the doctor had to step into an exam room and will call back in 10 minutes! I just want to know that she's comfortable and is going to be OK. |
i hate that!! hopefully you will hear real soon. |
OK, we have some positive news! When we first brought her in yesterday, she presented as demented and non responsive, however they say she is responsive this morning! They're still not sure if she can see yet, but her pupils are dialated. They're throwing around terms like hepatic encephalopathy (worsening of brain function that occurs when the liver is no longer able to remove toxic substances in the blood) and feline hepatic lipidosis (fatty liver). She is far from being out of the woods yet, but these issues should be treatable and, if this is the problem, completely curable. They are going to keep her over the weekend and insert a feeding tube through her nose. Thank you sooo much for the prayers & keep them coming! She may be my $10K kitty by the time we're done with this, but she is worth every penny! |
oh im so happy you have some sort of diagnosis and shes responding better. prayers and more prayers for your katie. |
