Update Hi, I'm Carla's son, Jason. She's ask me to update this post she wrote some time eary today. The Doctor said the CTA results show the blood clot has originated is in her brain. Unfortunately the neurologist is gone for the evening but they said they will have a meeting tomorrow to see what course of action to take! If she has another blood clot this evening, they will call the Doctor at home and ask what to do depending on her symptoms at the time. My Mother is very scared and wanted to know if anyone here has had any experience with similar types of blood clots and is wondering if this is the best choice for a course of action! She also wants to thank for your prayers. |
Hi I am a nurse and let me preface this. I DO NOT know everything, but it really sounds like you are having TIAs (transient ischemic attacks) which are less serious than strokes. If strokes are happening that frequently, I doubt that the doctors would wait for a neurologist to come and evaluate. It would be a priority and would have been evaluated ASAP. And, in MY experience, blood clots don't just show up overnight. Again, this is just my opinion. |
one more thing, TIAs are also called "mini" strokes |
I have no experience but sending prayers that it all gets figured out soon. And so glad she has you with her :) |
