You are in my prayers. I hope all went well. |
First I want to thank you all for your prayers. My surgery went very well! Got taken in at 7:30am and woke up from anesthesia at 9:30am. The doctor told my family that everything was able to be removed. After leaving the hospital at about 1pm went to get the pain meds and injections I have to give myself to avoid blood clots twice a day. Next week I have an appt. to see the doctor for a check up. I'll be on crutches for 6 weeks. Bentley and Baxter my Boxer have been fine with it all...no jumping, just were curious at first. I am happy to have this all behind me. Thank you all my friends for being there for me!:) Love and hugs, Dyan |
So relieved to hear the procedure is over & went well & prayers answered. Take it easy, take you medicine & feel better soon. |
Glad you are home. |
I am glad all went well. |
Dyan, I am very happy to hear all went well and that you are home. Wishing you a speedy recovery. :) |
Glad everything went well. Hugs |
Dyan, I am so glad you are on the road to complete recovery now!! So glad the surgery was a success!! |
So glad that all has gone well for you my friend...:) |
A little update on what is going on. I have no real pain which I think is a blessing. The only thing that bothers me is that when I get up to go wherever on the crutches my head gets this pounding sound...it goes along with my heartbeat. And I get lightheaded at the same time. I called the on call doctor and he doesn't seem to think anything of it. So, I do as little "walking" as possible. I am sleeping with my leg on pillows elevating it and it has helped with the swelling. The pounding and lightheadedness are the only thing that may concern me. Otherwise, I am doing well. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being such great friends. I feel so blessed having your prayers and well wishes.xoxo:) |
I hope you heal very quickly and feel better very soon. I'm so happy to hear that you are pain-free. |
Long story short I am in the hospital. Had blood transfusion as a hematoma developed. Will be here til tomorrow. Thank you for your continued prayers...they are most appreciated. Will update when I am home. |
Hopefully will be released from the hospital today. Will know something I hope later in the morning. |
My goodness, lady! What in the world happened? This is stunning - and I am so glad you got in and got your blood. How did they resolve the hematoma - just with meds? Wow, thank goodness you are okay and thank goodness for our E.R.'s!!! When you feel like it, tell us what happened. Am still praying for you. |

Special thoughts, hugs and prayers for your speedy recovery! |
So sorry to hear you ended up back in the hospital. But when reading thru this I thought to myself light headed and pounding is cause to worry. Glad your feeling better and praying all goes well from here. Take care of yourself |
I am glad to say I am home! Blood count came back up to where the doctors are comfortable and will follow up with my ortho (who had been on vacation this week) on Monday. First I have to get blood drawn on Monday and have the hospital send the results to him. I figure they want to keep tabs on it for a bit. I feel so much better being home! Thank you again for everyone's prayers...they have helped me more than you will ever know.:) |
Great news your home |
Oh, lovenox! Is that stuff still terribly expensive? I'm so sorry this happened and I think the hematoma must be of the size & nature that will resorb or they would address that in hospital. I am so sorry this happened to you! Are you feeling alright now? I guess so or they probably wouldn't let you come home but boy, I'll bet this hasn't been fun. Usually having metal removed is just a nothing deal compared to the procedure to fix it all in place! Whew! Sure glad you got in and got treated for this and nothing worse happened. At least it's all behind you now. I'll bet you're glad and glad to be home or on your way there soon! Let us know how you are doing when you can. |
Dyan, I am sorry to hear that you had to return to the hospital. Glad to hear that you are back home and comfortable again. Praying for your speedy recovery. :) |
I want to let you who have followed my post that I will be seen by by Orthopedic doctor this afternoon. First, I am going to the hospital to have blood work done and then off to the ortho. Hoping for a good report. Will let you all know when I get back.xoxo |
Will be watching for the update. Hope it all goes well |
Ok, I am now able to put half my weight on my leg but I have lot of swelling by the incision and that is the pocket where the hematoma is. He can't put a needle in to drain it because it is too thick like jelly. Hoping the body will reabsorb it. Final thing is they would have to go in and remove it surgically. I am really hoping it doesn't come to that. The staples can't come out because he is afraid it will open from swelling and have an appointment to see him next week. |
