Kathy, Sorry you had a bad experience. Shame on them for displaying their ignorance. They need to remember why they are there. Now, off my soap box ;). I will keep you in my prayers. |
Sorry for the bad experience. Talking like that where a patient can hear is unprofessional and rude. I pray you are feeling a bit better and that your test gives your doctor some leads and helps him decide how to treat. |
Thanks everyone... yes I am feeling a lot better today, just getting tired on and off quicker than I normally do. I've taken twice as many breaks today, and a few extra naps and been trying to take it easy. Hoping tomorrow will be even better. Thanks again for your prayers, thoughts and support. It really helps... |
Hold those babies of yours tight as there's nothing like a dog hugged close when you are feeling bad and sleep when you can. I'll bet you haven't been getting a lot of sleep with all this going on. Hope you can rest some tonight and tomorrow is a little better. Try not to worry about the test results as they will hopefully point your doctor toward some help toward you and get you feeling better. Do you use your arms above your head much working or anything? |

Sending prayers............ |
Kathy sending prayers and huggz your way. I really hope you call and lodge a formal complaint about the way you were treated...the staff was soooo unprofessional! They clearly forgot what they were trained to do, what happened to being compassionate??!! I hope the MRI has some answers and you can get some relief soon. ((HUGGZZ)) |
Keeping you in my prayers. |
Checking on you and still praying tonight. |
Thank you all for all your thoughts and prayers.... I had a better day today... my stamina is better, still took a few naps, but 60% less painful than the last two days. It feels good to be able to move a little bit again. I think I've watched every sewing tutorial ever made on U-tube! Lol! |

Mom taught me to sew early on... I took many years off and am now, or for the last year, getting back into it. |
Kathy I am just now seeing your update:( I am sorry you were treated so rudely and all for being 10 minutes late!! How many times do we as patients sit and wait for an hour or more on our Dr. when we are on time. No excuse for the way you were treated. I am glad you are feeling a tad better. When do you get your results? Still keeping you in my prayers. |

This makes me so mad, and another thing. It is not everyones business in that place that you were late. They need to review the privacy laws, they are telling everyone there, oh that is the one that was late. There is laws against that. I hope you call. |
I Hope you called and filed a complaint. And Im glad to report it was not my handicapped teenage child with monster attitudes that made you late to your appt. He did however make himself late to school that day! LOL I would have told them to shut up and get to work! All the whinning they did made them LATER on their schedule. Definately call and file report. Im glad I wasnt there... I have no ability to put up with rude people.. Hope you get the test done and can get some relief very soon. |
Kathy have you gotten the results from the MRI. I am keeping you in prayer that it is not anything serious and that you will be feeling all well soon. So sorry for all that you have gone through and what happened prior to getting the MRI, please know this SHOULD BE REPORTED TO THE TOP PERSON WHERE YOU HAD IT DONE. Sending big hug and continued prayers for you, Patti and Jack |
Thank you all... I will complain tomorrow... I still have a bit of a headache and don't feel like talking today. My doctor did call with the MRI results... My brain is fine, but there is a bulging disk in my neck, and she wants me to go to therapy for it. So I'll be calling them tomorrow too! Thanks again for all the prayers and positive thoughts. :D |
I am so sorry you were treated that way Kathy :( I would definitely call and complain. Hopefully therapy will help with the bulging disk. |
Kathy just reading this thread, First Im sorry you were treated badly especially when you didnt feel well, second you are in my prayers. Have you heard anything yet? |
Never did see your results so had to do a search and find this. So glad to hear it is nothing horrible like brain tumor or something! It could be the sprain of your neck when you lifting that cart is what caused the bulging disk. Are you a sewer or someone who works with their head/neck/shoulders in one position for a prolonged period, sits for a long time at the computer or does something fairly routinely that causes you to put your head back quite a bit? |

I called about the therapy today. Boy is that going to be expensive. I have an appt for Monday evening. I have no idea what they're going to have me do, lol. I'll tell you one thing for sure, when I see kids fooling around in WalMart, I turn and walk quickly in the opposite direction, even if they're in an area where I need something. I wait till they move on, then go back for what I need, lol. |

I don't know if this would apply to your specific condition but I used to work for a cervical spine ortho who preached that hyperextension of the neck and working at tasks with the neck in one position for prolonged periods would both keep a cervical spine sprain/strain irritated and inhibit healing. If you will Google hyperextension of the cervical spine or the neck, you will see that mostly it is contraindicated online by reputable medical sites. I know it is with most orthopedics as I've read so many medical reports on cervical injuries/disk disease. Hyperextension really causes the facets/foramen(especially is compromised by arthritic changes due to injury/age) to crunch down on various nerves/capillaries, particularly a problem after the neck has been weakened by an injury, over stretches the muscles that are weakened and just causes little reinjuries when done. Sitting for prolonged periods with an newly injured or chronic neck strain/sprain will allow swelling in areas of irritation and more pressure on nerves so regular shrugging of shoulders & gentle prescribed neck movements, getting up, walking around is usually recommended. Don't know if you have this type of condition in your case but if you have a bulging cervical disk, you could have a chronic strain/sprain of the cervical spine. Paresthesias in the arms/head, dizziness/nausea, headaches & tinnitus are sometimes pretty common in a chronic strain/sprain aside from the neck pain, tightness and weakness. I hope you can get some relief with your treatment. It sounds like you have been pretty miserable with this. God bless and hugs. |
You are in my thoughts and prayers. I hope all goes well for you. Susan |
Kathy, I am so sorry this has happened to you dear. You are so sweet to everyone, it is not fair!!!! Is there not a neck brace of some kind you can wear to take pressure off your neck? |

I do change positions frequently, and I try not to overdo anything. The initial injury was 3-4 years ago, I've had numbness in my head since then, but only recently in the last few weeks it has become worse. I don't know if I did something to cause it to become worse or not, nothing I can put my finger on. Quote:
