Please say a prayer for my daughter Jessica has Rheumatoid arthritis and her knee is so bad that they are going to do surgery on it today at 5:30 pm. She had to come off all her RA medicines for 3 weeks prior and has been in such pain. She is back staying with me until she is better. She can't walk, brush her hair (elbows are inflamed and swollen) or take care of herself. This is especially tough coming from losing Ken to seeing her so disabled. She just turned 27 Monday and today would have been Ken and my 30 th wedding anniversary. Any prayers and positive thoughts are so appreciated. Thanks |
Patti I am so sorry. My Dad has rheumatoid arthritis and I know it's very hard on him. I will pray for you and your daughter. |
Patti, I am keeping your daughter in my prayers her surgery goes very well and she heals quickly. |
Sending many prayers all goes well. |
Thanks. WHen we got to the surgicenter they took her temp and it was 102.7 and heart rate was 160 so they had her go right to the ER. They are running tests because she is immune compromised and an infection can really be bad. I came home to feed the dogs and my sister is with her and she just called. They found she has a bad UTI. They are keeping her overnight on antibiotics. Now the surgery will have to be rescheduled, she cant go on her RA meds for awhile so she will have to be off work and in pain. I am worried her employer will fire her for all the time missed on top of everything else. I would really appreciate continued prayers so we can get her better. Thanks |
I'm so sorry that your daughter is in so much pain. Prayers being sent her way that God will lay his hand on her pain amd give her strength and comfort until the surgery can be done. Also praying the surgery will be successful. You are such a good, loving mother to take such good care of her when she needs you the most. That goes a long way in helping jer get through this. Prayers are also being sent your way because I know you are going through a hard time, too. |
Patti, I am keeping you and your daughter in my thoughts and prayers. |
Patti, I am so sorry that things are still going wrong in your family. You all really deserve a break, you have gone thru enough already. I will keep your daughter and you in my prayers. Try to stay strong, and I'll keep praying for better days ahead for you. Hugs. |
OMGosh! Off her meds for 3 weeks sounds insane! Praying for you both, and for a successful surgery. Happy Belated Birthday, Jessica! Praying and wishing you much improved health this coming year, and many years to come! Patti, Big Hugs to you on yours and Ken's 30th anniversary... |
Patti, I just prayed for your daughter and will keep remembering her and of course you in prayer. It sounds like she was in pretty bad shape with that temp and heart rate. That says so much about her that she was so ill with a UTI and because she is so constantly in pain and used to discomfort, didn't seek medical care earlier. That speaks to me of great, constant suffering. Anytime a temp/heart rate like that goes relatively unnoticed by a person, they must be chronically miserable! And while it is bad to hear about this happening to anyone, for it to happen to such a young person, is doubly tragic. I pray she is a little more comfortable this morning and can get over the UTI, get her surgery and some knee relief and back to work. I'm also praying her employer's heart will be touched and she can keep her job as working can often helps people deal with severe pain, etc., and of course I'm certain she needs the money. I just hope that before too much longer there can be some better answers therapeutically for younger RA sufferers as their lives are so hard in almost every area and filled with so much suffering. Please let us know how she is doing when you can. |
omgosh! i am so sorry your daughter is having to go thru such pain! keeping her in my thoughts and prayers and i hope the surgery goes well. if her employer fires her she can collect and will find something later on. you and her should not worry about that right now her health is way more important and any employer worth working for would understand fully. its not like shes out partying every night. happy anniversary to you and your angel! hugs and positive prayers to you both!! |
Oh yes, prayers for Jessica and your family! |
Patti I am just now seeing this. I am so sorry that your daughter is having to suffer so much. I will keep her and will continue to keep you in my prayers. |
Patti your daughter and you are in my prayers. you have been thru so much, please stay strong. Grace |
My thoughts and blessings go out you you and your daughter. There is different acts put in place to protect your daughter and her job. There is the Family medical and leave act. It gives up to 12 weeks of unpaid leave. to take medical leave when the employee is unable to work because of a serious health condition. ( taken right from the site) U.S. Department of Labor - Find It By Topic - Leave Benefits - FMLA There is also the ADA ADA Home Page - ada.gov - Information and Technical Assistance on the Americans with Disabilities Act Hope some of this can help good luck hugs to you both |
Patti lot's of prayers going out for yur daughter. I pray she can have her surgery soon. |
Thanks. I took her to her primary care doctor today and she was upset that the surgeon had taken her off all of her RA meds. She contacted her rheumatologist and they put her back on one if her antinflammatories so hopefully she will get some relief. Surgery has been rescheduled for 9/26 unless there's a cancelation before. To make things even more interesting she has to be out of her apartment by 10/1. So now I have to get her all packed and moved in 2 weeks. I need a vacation!!!! |
That is too much going on at once! Sorry your daughter's surgery had to be pushed back because of illness. She remains in my prayers. |

Patti, I'm so sorry your daughter is going through this. You are a very loving mom and your daughter will get a lot of loving care with you to care for her. You have a lot on your plate ( again ) so please remember to take care of yourself. I will keep her and you in my prayers. |
Just an update on Jessica and Patti... Jessica continues to be in pain and now is also sick to her stomach and nauseated and throwing up. That poor girl. Patti is so worried about her and becoming quite exhausted. Patti is trying to go to Jessie's apartment once a day to pack and I'm praying she can find some help with that. She certainly can't do that all by herself. Continued prayers are so appreciated by Patti and Jessica! Thanks! |
Oh no! That is very sad news... I pray she feels better soon and that Patti can get some help with the move... Thank you Connie for the update... |
Poor things. They have been and still are facing some awful times! Why is it always like that - when it rains it pours. Patti is going to wind up flat of her back if she doesn't get a break or some help soon. And poor Jessica, she just sound miserable. Her life must be pretty unbearable right now. I'll bet she's so low. Sounds like each of them needs a special touch and just some good things to happen pretty quickly. I wish I lived near and could help somehow. At least I can pray. |
May God watch over and guide the hands of the surgeon. |
I'm just now reading this...Poor Patti and Jessica! Connie thank you for the update, I can only imagine what Jessica is going through..she is the same age as my daughter. I wish there was something I could do to ease the burden...prayers for Patti and Jessica. Patti please remember to take care of YOU...my hear just breaks for you and all that you have and are going through.... |
Patti, I am keeping you and your dear daughter in my prayers. |
Thanks. Jessica is throwing up the antibiotics and started with a fever tonight so I called the after hours doctor number and they switched her antibiotic but it's in the same family so I don't know if she will be able to keep it down either. I just need her to get better we're both so stressed. Please keep the prayers going. Thanks Connie for updating for me. |
Patti continuing prayers for you and your daughter. |
Patti, Jessica and you are in my prayers tonight. Can she take Zofran for nausea? I used to not be able to tolerate any anti-nausea meds, just had to be sick, until they made Zofran. I can take it with no side effects at all and it works! |
