Alex has another hurdle to overcome. Just when we thought it was better, it looks like there is another hurdle to jump over. :( Alex's knee looked red to me again today so I took him to see my friend who is a nurse. She thinks there is something going on still and has advised me to take him back to the doctor tomorrow. She has recommended a referral to a wound care doctor. I hate to keep asking but my baby boy needs prayers. This has been going on since March. It is time for him to have some relief. :(:( I feel so helpless. :cry2: |
Hoping for positive new's on precious Alex, will be keeping him and you in my prayer's. This is the first I saw your post. How old is your precious boy? Keep positive thought's and give your baby a big Yorkie hug for me. You just gotta love these precious pup's they just melt your heart. Anne and Luci.:p |
Praying for Alex. Hoping this redness and bump are nothing but routine. |
This is always such a worry after Alex' type infection. I believe I would first see an infectious disease specialist - say the head of the Infectious Disease Department of your nearest big city's best hospital and let him send you to the wound care specialist he most trusts, if one is necessary. I thought most wound care specialists were usually used for chronic, very long-term infections of diabetics, osteomyelitis, etc. I'd at least get an infectious disease consult just to be on the safe side. |
Oh no! I'm so sorry to be hearing this news. Keeping Alex in my prayers... Hugs, Kathy |
Sending prayers. |
I went to bed with Alex in my thoughts and prayers and continuing to keep him in my prayers. I hope you get some answers today Rhonda, you have to be beyond frustrated at this point:( |
Prayers coming for that little darling. Keep us posted when you know more. |

Thanks everyone. At this point, I think prayers are the best thing for Alex. We need prayers for healing and guidance on who needs to be treating him at this point. It may be nothing and I hope that is the news I get. However, after the last ordeal, I don't want to drag my feet on this. The only positive thing is IF it is something, we are getting help early. |
Poor Alex. I will keep your family in my thoughts and prayers. I pray that you will be guided to a medical team that has the knowledge and training to heal your little son. |
Sending hugs and prayers to you and your sweet Alex. |
keeping alex in my thoughts. |
Hi Rhonda... I was just reading your post. I agree with your friend I would go to a wound care. I didn't understand what you were saying when you texted me.. sorry. The surgery is not the issue it is healing. I sure hope you get in fast and it is something simple to care for. I am sending prayers and hope to hear good news! |
Just got off the phone with the nurse from my PCP office. They are going to review Alex's file and get back with me on what we need to do. So right now, it is a waiting game. :( |
I'm so sorry Rhonda :( I will pray for this situation to finally be resolved. You and your poor Alex have been through so much and God will continue to give you strength and patience until his knee finally clears up. |
Hoping & praying you can get Alex referred to them ASAP just to be safe. May not be anything but with his history, you can't take a chance. Keep us posted & stay strong. These things can be very slow & hard to conquer but with good care, they are. |
I'm so sorry that this isn't over for you and Alex yet :(. Just when you thought things were getting better :(. Keeping you and Alex in my prayers. |
I am so sorry to hear Alex is having some additional problems!! I am keeping you and Alex in my prayers!! |

I will come back another time to check on Alex and hope to hear all is well. The trials in life are never over but through all my years I have found, when the going gets tough and trials befall me, God oversees my every need and I feel Jesus carrying me through it all each time. I am praying God will give you comfort to ease your worry and you will be led to the right Dr. To help Allex get through this. Hugs, and a big sweet kiss for Alex. Patti and Jack |
Oh Rhonda I am so sorry that Alex is still having problems with his knee. I think the Wound Care Doctor and a Infectious Disease Doctor should both be consulted. Prayers will certainly still continue for Alex. |
Well, here we go with the medical world again!! Wound care will not see us because the "wound" is close now. They said I needed to see an Ortho. Well I can't see an Ortho without a referral. And I can't get a referral unless from my PCP. And my PCP wants me to go through my surgeon. Who happens to be out of town until July 3! So I ask if another surgeon will see us. The girl says she will have to have the nurse call me. Well it is 8:46 pm and my phone isn't ringing!!:mad::mad: Oh Lord will this ever end! :(:(:( |

I'd head over to the ER, Staph infections are hard to clear up, so the sooner the better... (that is what he had the last time?) |
I am so sorry that you both have to continue to cope with this. I hope the doctors can help to heal Alex. You remain in my thoughts and prayers. |

Poor Alex , I will be Praying for him. Is it hot or warm to the touch ? If yes I would go to ER ASAP. I would go anyway but that's me & I'm neurotic. |

It does seem like if you explain to the that it is urgent that he is seen..that even with your surgeon being gone until July 3, someone else in the practice should take his emergency patients!! I am so sorry you are having to go through this! I don't blame you for not wanting to wait until he gets back in town. I am definitely keeping you and Alex in my thoughts and prayers!! You have had your hands quite full lately, and I know you are ready for everything to just be normal again! |
