Dr. Visit to Schedule Surgery I visit with the ortho specialist tomorrow to schedule surgery. The doctor only does this type of surgery on Thursday and Friday mornings and generally is generally booked up for two weeks in advance. Please pray that Dr. Terrell will have an opening this coming Thursday or Friday. I am really starting to freak about the surgery and want to get it done before I winp out. |
Sending prayers that you can get this taken care of quickly and that you will be relieved of the pain and anxiety (ask for some super bionic upgrades too ;);)). Best wishes. |
Sending prayers that the dr can get this surgery over with, and that after recovery, you will finally be pain free!! |
Sending prayers that you can get in and get this surgery over with! And have relief from the pain and stress this has caused!!! |
Wait a minute here....you are definitely not a wimp, not after enduring 4 years of agony . You are a strong woman and will see this through just fine. :) Sending prayers doc can get you in quickly, surgery behind you and have you on the road to recovery in no time. Chin up.....you are THE WOMAN!!! :D Hugs ))) |
1 Attachment(s) Thank you, Kristen, Michelle, Baby Girl and Tena. Here's a pic of the hardware and an animation of the way it works. :-( The Ilizarov Method I am not trying to be negative, but this is really scary. They will be sawing the "good part" of my leg in half, and then screwing things THROUGH the bone above where they break it. |
My best wishes for a successful surgery and a fast recovery. That is rather a daunting picture. But it sounds like he has lots of experience. |
Praying you can get the surgery this week and it is very successful and you can be finally pain free. |
Sending prayers for your surgery and a quick recovery. You have the right to be nervous. I think we all would be too. Just remember all of us will be with you in spirit. |
Surgery countdown - 10 days 11 nights Surgery is Friday 6/24 so I have 11 days (well 10 really) to think about it. AND when I think about it I feel like throwing up. Good news is that after the stitches come out I won't have any restrictions -- I can do what I feel like doing. I can even SWIM in a swimming pool, but no lake! Now to find a pool :). Boy I hope I have some good pain meds (this procedure is bitchy painful) so I can get back to my little vegetable garden. The first big rush of tomatoes should be coming in just about the time I go in for surgery..... my son will have to make his poor sick mama some spaghetti sauce from the home grown romas. |
Well, look at the bright side. In 11 days it will be over with!! :D No restrictions will help too! You will have to look for a pool for sure!! We will all pray that you have tolerance to any pain and that you recover very quickly. Tell your son to get busy! And we expect perfect spaghetti sauce for momma! |
HI i just know you will do well.... hang in there we are cheering for you!!!:):) |
Hope all goes well for your surgery and that you are able to be pain free soon. |
It's awful that you have to go through that again. I'm sure they'll have pain medication for you that will be equal to your pain. It does sound good that after you get the stitches out that you will be free to do what you want. I hope you heal quickly and will feel like doing all of those things. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers for a successful surgery on the 24th. |
Thanks everyone. I need some ideas about how to decorate this very ugly and intimidating piece of hardware. I'm thinking about adding some charms and/or perhaps some funky lace/fringe that I can attach with velcro. |

Cindy, I'll be definitely saying an extra prayer for you. I know it's something you are not looking forward to but once it's all over...it'll be so worth it. You'll be good as new. ;) I just thought of something else you could dress up your hardware with...fringe like the flappers from the 20s...you could be movin' and groovin'. :D Big Hugs! |
Best wishes to you and I will keep you in my prayers!! |
Sending prayers and best wishes that your surgery goes well and you have a speedy recovery!! |
Gosh, Cindy...I feel so bad for you! I will pray that the surgery is successful and that you have very little pain and heal quickly. Hugs to you and I'll be thinking of you! It's so unbelievable that that titanium rod broke! Best wishes, dear friend! |

I'm so happy to know that you will finally be pain free!!:thumbup: Bear in mind ... when you are decorating your "cage", carefully consider the bells or anything that clinks, just in case you want do anything that your "keepers" don't approve of ... they will know where you are at all times!! :sidesplt: This is the voice of experience here!! ;) Seriously, I will be praying that all goes well and you will be pain free and mobile in no time at all. |
