Please keep my Dakota in your prayers
 
Poor Dakota, my sickly baby from day one. He is walking weird, and sometimes his back legs go out from under him. We have an appt today at 4. Poor guy he never cries, never scratches, even with all his alergies and IB problems. I hate it when one of them doesnt feel well. Just hate it.

I am so sorry to hear about poor Dakota. Good luck with the appointment I hope all goes well and it is nothing to serious. Sending prayers and best wishes.

We all know how it feels when our little ones aren't feeling well it is so hard to see and go through. not good news. His spine is deteriaitng. For now they have him on inflamatories, but if it worsens he will need surgery, bad thing is that may not fix the problem either. I tell you what, its just not fair for one little dog to have so many problems.

Linda, just now seeing this - you and Dakota are in my thoughts and prayers. I am so very sorry. Wish I was close enough to give you a real hug, bu because miles separate us here's a virtual :hug:. If ther is anything I can do, please let me know.

Praying for Dakota. You are a wonderful mommy and he is lucky to have you and you him...Keep your chin up I know its easier said than done but these babies are so smart, they know when mommy is sad and it makes them sad. I'm sorry you and your baby is going through this my heart goes out to you and Dakota, sending lots of prays your way.

I'm just now seeing this. I am keeping Dakota in my prayers and hoping the inflamatories give him some relief. Get better little guy!

Thank you everyone. This morning he actually is a bit better. Im praying that the meds will sustain him for a few more years. That would be a prayer answered for sure!

OMG Linda, I am so devastated to hear about Dakota! I agree, it seems like the little sickly ones have a full plate -- too full for their little spirits. I have seen some wonderful things with medicine and I'm praying that they find a successful treatment for Dakota. I have never heard of a deteriorating spine, but it sounds horrible :(

Bonnie he will be 7 this year. Poor guy has everything wrong. He has done well today with his meds, tonight is the second dose. My friends elder cocker has been on this same med for two years and she says it has really helped. Were thinking positive and were not letting him go up and down the stairs or run. Problem is Dakota is into everything, and I mean everything. I think thats why he's my favorite for the ge games. He really gets into it. Shoot hes happy going thru the grocery bags. He's definately a brat but I love him. Guess he just sort of grows on you like a leech. haha

I am so sorry to hear about Dakota's deteriorating spine. I hope the medicine does help. Is there anything that can be taken to slow down the process or perhaps to strengthen his muscles? Sending prayers to Dakota.
