Peachbongi Needs our Prayers!!!! A while back I posted a thread asking for our prayers for Peachbongi's family. To make a long story short, I'll do my best to relay what is going on. Peachbongi's husband Michael is 35 years old and a police officer. He injured his back pulling 4 people from a car wreck and saved their lives. This heroic effort caused an injury where fragments of bone shattered and wedged into his spine. He underwent surgery to remove the fragments of bone which were dangerously close to the spinal cord. Everything should have gone fine - as I said, Michael is 35, in good shape, and healthy. Things were looking good for a while but there was drainage from the surgical site and it healed over with apparently a deep staph infection inside. Michael woke up one day unable to walk and Peachbongi a 120-lb woman had to help her 200-lb plus husband walk to the bathroom. Things were improving again and on Christmas, Michael fell to the floor trying to get to the bathroom. Again he is not walking on his own and being hooked up again to antibiotics by IV 5x a day to try to clear this infection. He is going for more testing as they now believe that the infection is setting into the bones. Peachbongi has had superhuman strength to physically care for him along with her three kids since this happened with little help or support. She is managing the situation very well, all things considered. But she is angry and tired, but most of all petrified that this may not go away. She needs our prayers! This is a horrible way to spend the holidays and she has tried her best to make it very nice for the kids. Her dogs are also being well taken care of. Honestly, I don't know how she does it. So please say a little prayer for Peachbongi and her family - she needs them!! ETA: I forgot to add that his father was just diagnosed with inoperable pancreatic cancer. They are really having a horrible time! |
Cathy, thank for the update. I am so sorry to hear they have had another set back. Peachbongi has a lot on her plate, more than one person should have. I wish I was closer so I could help physically. Sending big hugs and prayers to stay strong, and complete and speeding healing to her husband. :getwell::big_hug: |
Oh my gosh - I am so sorry she is going through all this. Definately keeping her and her family in my thoughts and prayers. |
I don't know how she does it! My heart and my prayers go out to her and her family, as well as her father-in-law. |
I will keep her and the family in my prayers. She sounds like a very strong person. |
I just cannot imagine what she is going through. She is a very strong wife and mother to take all of this on and hold her family together. I will keep her and her family in my prayers. Hopefully, they will get some answers to what is causing this infection to be resistant to treatment. |
Is this like osteomylitis? Where the infection is deep in the bone. I sure hope not; it can be very difficult to get rid of. Prayers for their family. |

My prayers are with Peachbongi and her family. I hope the new year brings them a miracle! |
They definately will be in my prayers. When my son got into the quad accident, he broke both bones in his leg, they actually were sticking out, anyway infection set into the bones, nine surgeries, and antibiotics by iv, pumps, drainage pumps etc. Our doctor called UC Davis, to check for anything new. I dont know the name but they put something that looked like a string of pearls into his leg. They were some type of antibiotic. Each day they came in and pulled a few of the pearls out. It took about 10 days completely. You might suggest the doctor call a University that studies medicine for new updates. I was impressed that our doctor wasnt a know it all and had no problem reaching out for new procedures. Just a thought. |
Michelle, you are in my thoughts and prayers. I just cannot what you are going through. |
Oh wow, I can\'t imagine what she must be going through. I will be thinking of you and your family. |
