Prayers needed
 
My dear friend Shirl's [shirlblack] DH is having surgery for cancer on 3/25. She is friends with many of you I'm sure. I know both she and her husband are pretty anxious at this time. They have had to wait what seems like a month or more before he will have his surgery.

Shir and her dh have been on my mind since the diagnosis. Just surprised scheduling surgery has taken so long. Waiting is the worst. Prayers for a good outcome. Hugs to Shirl. ~Joanne~

Thanks Carol, for starting this thread and thanks to everyone for your thoughts and prayers. He was diagnosed with prostate cancer 5 weeks ago and it's another week before his surgery but time has passed off pretty fast for us. If all goes well he'll only have to spend one night in the hospital.

Please Shirl, no need to thank me. It seems you were right there for me when I've needed you also. You are such an awesome person. You have so many people that care about you and now your husband as well. I pray you will have really great news after the surgery. I think about both of you every day.

I just wanted to say thank you everyone for your positive thoughts and prayers for Shirl and her DH. I know it means a lot to her to have such wonderful support. I too am very grateful. God be with all of you.

Thanks everyone for your support, thoughts and prayers for my husband and myself. He will be having surgery Friday at 7:45 and it will take approximately 4 hours. I'll be back on and give an update when he comes home.

The big day has arrived. I guess he has already gone in to surgery this morning. I'll be waiting to hear the good news when you get it. God be with the both of you today.

My husband is at home and doing very well. He came through the surgery just fine and the Doctor feels he got it all but we won't have the pathology report for another week. Thanks to everyone for your thoughts and prayers. It was such a comfort for us to know that so many people were thinking of us. God bless you all!

It has been a long wait and I'm sure your nerves are a little frazzeled. I know it will seem like another long wait for the results. Keep yourself busy and hopefully the time will go by fast. I hope your DH isn't having too much pain. He'll be better before you know it. :)

I'm glad to hear he came through the surgery without problems.

Hi everyone,
My husband went back to the Dr. today and the bad news was that the cancer was spread outside the prostate and the Dr. wasn't able to get it all. The good news was that the lymph nodes were negative. He'll go back in 4 weeks for a PSA test and if it's high the Dr. will discuss different methods of treatment. If it's low then they will just keep a watch over it. I would appreciate it very much if you'll continue to keep him in your prayers.
