Update Hi Everyone, I am so frustrated. I called my doctor today bc I have not heard anything and they told me they haven't gotten the results and to call the surgeon myself. So I am shaking and getting up the nerve and I call............ They say who was your doctor I told them and they were like hold on a minute and she comes back I am sorry but he is not in the office today but he will be in on Monday and you can call first thing. I am worried bc I know that they have the results there why does the doctor have to call? Is that normal procedure? It seems weird that she asked who my doctor was and then said hold on, and then came back and said he was out of the office till monday. I am thinking if it was good news they probably would of been able to tell me but bc it isn't he has to talk to me and it is DRIVING me Nutts!!! I have to go through a whole weekend of this waiting and wondering. I am so sick of this why can't doctors make their patients a priority? I just want to know so I can deal with this one way or another! I am so upset and scared.:( I thank everyone for their support and prayers. ~Joyce |
Ohhhh, I'm so sorry that you are having to go through this. . .is there anyway you can call back and say that you really need to leave a message for the doctor to call you back TODAY because there is no way you can go all weekend without knowing? When I had a biopsy done on an adenoma a few years ago, the hospital called me with the results. I'd see if you can leave a message with the doctor's office to have him call you TODAY. |

I agree ask for either another doctor or a message to your doctor for a call back today. I think it is so cruel to make patients suffer and worry waiting for results. Just be insistant you have the right to know. Also, I now where I go the doctor always calls with my results even if they are normal so it may just be the office practice to have a doctor give you the results. Keeping you in my prayers. |
Joyce, It looks like you are receiving some very good advice today... I would not have thought to be so persistent but it certainly is warranted! Just know that we are all here for you and continue to hold you close in our thoughts and prayers. Hang in there Joyce. I can not imagine trying to be patient on a subject such as this. I think it is normal for the Dr. to deliver all results negative or positive. However, it doesn't hurt to be demanding of an answer today, you deserve that much. |
I actually did this and it worked. I parked myself in the waiting room and wouldn't leave until someone told me something. I wasn't loud or violent or anything. Well, it worked. It was sort of a patient's rights protest on my part. |

Some small doctors will allow you to do this..... Go in and ask for a copy of all labs including the biopsy. Some will give it to you on the spot. You will have to bring ID and sign a release but if you beg, they might give them today. Some offices make you wait. Or you could go to the lab who performed the biopsy and ask for a copy for your records. |

Seriously, they can't lock the doors and go home for the weekend until everyone is gone. They won't call the police because what would they say?? That you're sitting there quietly waiting for results? They will get a doctor to meet with you and tell you. |
well My husband called back for me and asked them if they had the results could they please fax them to my primary doctor bc I was very stressed out and I could not go through the weekend wondering. The receptionist called my surgeon and he gave them the ok to give me the results on the phone. Within 15 minutes I got the call..........NO CANCER!!!!! Thank the Lord!! Thank you everyone for all your prayers and support, You made going through this so much easier!!! Big hugs to all of you~ Joyce |
