Again, thank you all so much for your prayers. I am feeling so much better, as far as the surgery. We got the results and it wasn't what we wanted to hear. I am just trying to absorb and understand what we were told. It seems that a reading of -2.5 is considered "critical" and they measure "femur" and "spine" density. He said my femur density measures -3.7 and my spine density measures -3.9. I had to go back over to the hospital for some more bloodwork yesterday and I will know early next week which medication and how much. The doctor told me that for now, I can walk, which makes Toto happy! Also, he said that he wants me to get at least 20 minutes a day of direct sunlight. As far as medication, it will either be the IV once a year [Reclast] or an injection every three months [Boniva]. With that will be Vitamin D-3 and a massive amount of calcium taken 4 times a day. Beyond that, I just don't know yet ... I DO know that I don't like any of this and am just anxious to be on the "fast track" to treatment and getting on with my life.

For now, I plan to occupy myself with all those things that I can do, like catching up on YT and our Rescue! I appreciate you all so much ... God bless every one of you!

I am happy to say that I am feeling soooo much better! Thank you all so much for your prayers! I am so far behind with everything in my life ... I have to get busy! Our little Yorkie Rescue is bursting at the seams and there's a ton of paperwork to catch up on. I will probably learn my "fate" as far as medication tomorrow and then it's just wait and see how well it works ... yuk ... I hate to take medicine!!

Bettyeanne - :clapsmile I am so glad to hear that you are feeling better. Are you still in Alabama, or are you back in Colorado? I will say some special prayers that your doctor's visit will render you medicine-less.

Thank you, Cindy! We are back in CO ... Patrick had to fly back down to AL and fly back with me and the Toto. We had no clue that we actually have a "world famous" Orthopod right here in GJ!! The procedure was amazing and has only been done since 1998. Now if I just take my medicine like a good girl, hopefully, we can stop my bone loss and it will begin to rebuild.

:eek: I totally forgot about Toto's NapNests!! Thank you so much ... when they are ready, just send to CO. I don't know when we will be back in AL but hope it won't be long.

Bettyanne, I pray that you continue to improve and that your bone loss is stopped and it starts rebuilding. I need to start trying to get 20 minutes of sunshine a day too. I have been too much of a hermit this winter. Thanks for the reminder. :)
