What did the catscan say ? Are you better ? Hearing you say you\'re in agony makes me cringe cause you really must be to say that here many hugs - I missed you and am so sorry I\'m just seeing this...I really hope you\'re feeling better... thanks Joan ..... |
I realize that so much time has passed since the first post Bettyeanne and I am so sorry that I missed it. I had no idea... Please know that I am thinking of you and keeping you in my prayers and thoughts .... :heart to |
First of all, I want to thank you all for your prayers and patience. It is difficult to sit for very long but I want to give you a short update. My catscan confirmed the compression fracture in my back as well as the stress fracture in my left foot. Results were inconclusive on the aorta. Patrick flew to AL and brought me back to CO on March 21st along with all my records, scans and x-rays. I met my new Doctor here on Friday, March 27, had an MRI which he ordered and by the time we rushed back to his office, he had the results and plan of treatment. They also “built” a support [fiberglass] that fits in my shoe for the fracture in my foot and it’s wonderful. I can walk pain free and without limping! He scheduled “Balloon” Kyphoplasty for the 30th [Monday] and I was home Monday night!! The procedure is relatively new [1998] and if this works and it looks like it will, I should be back to almost normal in a couple of weeks. The root of the problem will take much, much longer. I have severe osteoporosis and my bones are like swiss cheese! I will have another bone scan on the 9th and he will plan the course of treatment for me. Meantime, I can’t do much of anything and even if I could, the ever vigilant “Medic Patrick” won’t let me! He rebelled when I introduced him as my “Nurse” so I have to address him as “Medic”! Seriously, I don’t know what I would do without him. Now, I have to concentrate on the small things that I can do … “sit, stay” … can’t say I blame our Yorkie babies for being difficult sometimes! Again, thank you all so much for your prayers … now if I can catch up reading and knowing what’s going on with everyone in my YT family, I will be happy!! God bless you all. |
Beattyanne, I haven\'t been around a lot lately, and I had no idea you were dealing with so much. It sounds like several prayers have already been answered. I will keep you in my prayers, I am so sorry that you osteoporosis is so severe. So glad you can walk without pain now. Catch up on YT & love on the furbabies - sounds good |
Bettyanne, thanks so much for the update. I am glad you are making some progress toward healing and getting better. It looks like you are in it for the long haul. I pray that the doctors will come up with a good treatment plan and I pray that you will make a speedy recovery. |
Awwww Bettyanne, so good to hear from you. Life can be a B#@*% sometimes can\'t it. Sounds like you are over a few hurddles and that is good. Tell your sweet \'care giver\' that I think he\'s doing a great job and hugs to you and Toto. Joan |
Bettyeanne, it\'s so nice to hear from you. I\'ll continue to have you in my prayers. |
Bettyanne, thanks so much for the update. I\'m glad you were able to get some relief for the foot at least. I\'m so sorry about the osteoporisis. I hope they will come up with a plan to help you. I\'ll keep praying. |
Thank you all for your continued prayers. I had another bone scan today and hope to have the results on the 15th ... they have decided to leave my stitches until the 15th too. I was really hoping to know the results today and what the plan of treatment will be. I am so tired of this and just want to get back to normal ... well, whatever normal will be for me. I am told it won\'t be my usual "normal" from now on. Right now I would just be happy to walk Toto. |
Bettyeanne....I hope that you get the results you are hoping for. The waiting is hard, isn\'t it? Just remember to take care of yourself! |
Lots of prayers going on your way . |
:hands: Prayers for good results on the 15th. So sorry you have to go through all this. Darlene |
Thinking of you and praying there is an easy treatment to take away your pain! Hugs to you! |
