.... needs your prayers!! Those of you who remember Baby Emma, the little Chi, might like to know that she will undergo her first surgery in the morning at 10 AM. She will be 6 months old on Monday and now weighs barely 28 oz. This little miracle is continuing to thrive. Dena sent me some updated pics today of her little mouth. Although it looks awful, it is so much improved since she was born and noone thought she could live!! :thumbup::thumbup:

And .... this is the way she will look in the morning for her surgery!! ;) Please, please pray that God will guide the hands of those surgeons and that she will recover quickly from this surgery! God bless you all for caring for this sweet, fiesty little miracle!

My goodness she is still very tiny for surgery.. May God watch over her when she is in surgery and afterwards... I will be looking for an update... thanks for letting us all know.. anne

Thank you all so much for your prayers. I wish I could be there but Oklahoma City is almost 1000 miles from where we live in Colorado! I will update you as soon as I hear news. God bless you all for caring.

Yes I just saw that she was having her surgery today. I'm sending best wishes for a successful outcome and a speedy recovery. Please keep us updated on her condition.

Emma is in our thoughts and prayers and we hope she is recovering tonight. I can't believe how big she has gotten in the last few months.

Just heard from Dena. It has been a really long day for she and Emma. She made it through the surgery and it was successful. They were able to repair the cleft and according to the doctors, she should be able to actually eat in a few days! I figure it will be really soft food but .... food! I'm not sure if they were able to do everything that will have to be done on the outside of her little face. She will be six months old on Monday and I cannot imagine her being that old and never having a bite of food in her little mouth! This is just a miracle! They let Dena stay in there for the entire procedure ... she said maybe that wasn't such a good idea. I would've fainted ... she certainly has more grit than I do!

At any rate, thank you all so much for your prayers, please keep them up. This little girl just has such a very special place in my heart. I am praying that they will have a peaceful, restful night! Again, thank you so very much for your prayers!

Thank you so much for the wonderful update! I have been thinking about her since yesterday and even started a thread earlier in OT asking if anyone had heard from Dena and someone directed me here. That picture of sweet little Emma in her "hospital gear" just *MELTS* my heart like no other! That is just, so so so sweet....

I will be checking her Myspace page constantly for updates. I am just SO incredibly thankful that she made it through the surgery ok. God has really worked some miracles for that precious little girl. What a sweetheart she is.

Can't believe that Dena was able to stay in for the surgery - I think I would have fainted as well :eek: There is no way I would have been able to do it - or at least I wouldn't have been able to actually watch - but I'm glad that she was able to hold up through it - she is such a strong woman and one with a huge heart at that....God Bless her. And sweet little Emma "The Miracle Girl" too :)

I am so pleased to hear the surgery went well. Dena and Emma are often in my thoughts, if you speak to her again, please send my love and tell her I'm praying for her and that little bundle.

Yes...thank you for the updates. Little Emma has been on all of our minds as well as Dena for giving this little girl the gift of life. I so miss being able keep up with Baby Emma's progress here on YT. I wish her and Dena well and send loads of hugs and kisses.

Baby Emma is truly a miracle and of course Dena is a saint for what
she has done to bring Emma this far.
Prayer's coming for you Emma to have a complete recovery and a
wonderful life eating real food, soft but real.,

Oh! I was just thinking about this little angel the other day! I hadn't seen any news on her on here in a long time (must have missed the threads) so good to hear she got through the surgery..I really hope she continues to thrive.

Awwww I think of her often as you know she reminds me so much of my Tia. Thank god the surgery went ok!!!
