my sons kidneys might be failing him so my son, Logan, had calcium, protein and blood in his pee about a month ago. they retested it yesterday and it's still there. his doc is sending him to a pediatric nephrologist but that's not for another month. they had me bring them his first morning pee today so i'm waiting for the results of that. plus a whole month of waiting to see the other doc. any prayers for him would be appreciated. |
Im so sorry about your son, sending you hugs and prayers. Im sure everything will be ok. I know its so hard when our little ones (or big ones) get sick but try to stay positive and keep praying. He listens and answers our prayers. |
I am so sorry hun. My thoughts and prayers are with you. As a mother I know what you are going through. |
Oh how scarey. Sending prayers for positive news. A friend of mine had repeated strep infections which damaged her kidneys. However with treatment...she hasn't suffered any more damage and her kidneys are working fine. So there is hope. |
i am trying to stay positive but logan is only 4 years old and been through so much already! he had Craniosynostosis when he was born and had about 1/4 of his skull removed to correct it and they are talking about doing it again around february. so this is all to much! hard to keep the faith when so much bad is happening to someone so young and innocent! |
Awww...hugs to Logan and his momma. :) |
Prayers for Logan...I hope everything is okay with him. |
Sending hugs  and prayers :hands: for Logan, you and your entire family. I know this is a very stressful time. Having to wait 30 days for a test result is like an eternity. I hope that the test results show that his kidneys are ok and there is an easy solution to the present problem. |
I am so sorry you are going through this, it most be so difficult for you. We don't always understand why things happen, and sometimes if we did, it might make things a little easier. My prayers are with you and your family, I hope Logan recovers from this soon; it sounds like you and he have had to endure an awful lot in his short life. I hope you can remain strong for his sake, and really wish you this best. |
you all are so awesome here! whenever someone needs something you ban together and give all you can. thanks for all the support and good thoughts, we're gonna need them. me more then logan as it takes an awful toll on me! he doesn't remember any of his surgery or any of his complications afterward but boy i do and i can't imagine going through all this again and the kidneys on top of it. the only thing he knows of his surgery is what we have told him, the pics he's seen, and of course the scar that runs from ear to ear across the top of his head. |
Awwwww Honey, prayers for Logan and for your whole family. I know an illness with one family member affects everyone. Praying the God keeps you all wrapped in His loving arms. |

Wow, life sure threw you a curve ball. I'm so sorry to hear this. I will definately send prayers off to your son. Stay stong mom, he needs to see your smiling face. |
I'm sorry for all the problems your son seems to be having! Just try to be strong and don't get too concerned until further testing is done. Did they tell you what kind of amounts there were? When I was in my teens a doctor told me I had more than normal amounts of protein in my pee and he wanted to make sure my kidneys were working fine. I went to tons and tons of specialists, had ultrasounds (found damage on my right kidney) and had blood and urine samples taken for a long time. They never really found out what caused it. I still go to the kidney specialist for tests every two years, but the last time I went he told me my kidney function had improved 200% since the last time he saw me. One of my doctors is really into natural remedies, and he told me to eat a lot of alfalfa. So I bought alfalfa sprouts and put them in salads and sandwiches. He told me alfalfa is supposed to be great for kidneys. And remember... kids' bodies seem to be able to get through things a lot easier than adults. I hope everything turns out okay! |
I will keep you both in my prayers. That is a lot to deal with |
I am so sorry for your son.. I cant even imagine what you are going through. all i can offer is my full faith in God and I hope with the bottom of my heart everthing will turn out ok.. you are in my prayers |
Saying a prayer for him. |
I am so sorry to hear what you are going through! I cant imagine and I would be sick to my stomach if anything happened to my son. My prayers are with you! |
I am so sorry for all of the health issues that Logan has had to deal with. I am keeping you and Logan in my prayers. |
Prayers being said for you and your little boy from here in NC. Stay strong and hold on tight to your faith in God. You will get through this most difficult time. God Bless you both! |
Sending prayers to you and your son! |
I just want to send some well wishes to your son. I will pray for a speedy recovery. Best wishes, |
I'm so sorry to hear this, I'm keeping you and him in my prayers that everything will be ok! |
It does sound like you have had more than your share of health problems with your son, but I can sympathize. My husband went in to kidney failure last December and has been going for dialysis three times a week. But the good thing that happened from it is that Maybelline came into our lives. I bought Maybelline for him when we learned his kidneys failed and she is truly his dialysis buddy because she will just lay in his lap for hours after he comes home from dialysis. He is waiting for a transplant and hopefully it will be soon. We will keep Logan in our prayers. |
Update!! so the doc says his levels have dropped in his pee. she wants to cancel his nephrology appt and just retest him in a few weeks. i'm happy his levels have dropped but my concern is.. if his levels go back up again will she want to reschedule it again. i dunno if i should cancel it or go ahead and go see them anyway. i just hate to cancel then he need to go anyway and wait another month before he can get in. what would you guys do?? |

I am glad to hear that the counts have gone down. If I were you, I would not cancel the appointment until you are satisfied that his counts are going to stay down. If it would make you feel better, go ahead and see the specialist. You have both been through a lot. He must be a very special little boy.. and I can tell that you love him very much. Hugs to both of you and I will keep you both in my prayers. |
