Sunnie made me go to the doctor...
 
For the past month, every time Sunnie got on my lap she would get in my face and paw at my nose. She was driving me nuts, I was stuffy because of allergies (I thought) and didn't have much patience with her until a couple of days later I started having some pain across the bridge of my nose on the right side. I went to the doctor, had a CT scan and went to the ENT Dr. He found a tumor inside my nose, up by my eye that was almost blocking off that side. He was hoping to find a polyp instead. He was checking me for lymphoma but so far everything has checked out ok. My bloodwork was good, the chest xray was clear and I have no swelling in my neck.

I am having surgery on 8-6, Wednesday to take care of it & for a biopsy. I have a deviated septum that Dr will have to correct first to get to it. Sounds like fun, if 2 black eyes and splints & stitches in my nose for a week is fun.

I am asking for your prayers. I am a little frightened by this but I'm trying to keep my family "up" about the whole thing.

The first thing I did was thank God for my little Sunshine:aimeeyork, she knew something was wrong before anyone else did.

Sunnie was a smart baby. She was worried about her mommy. I've heard this before that they can detect cancer. Give her some extra treats!

That is just amazing that Sunnie was attempting to tell you something about your health. It is no wonder that so many stories are written about animals having a sixth sense. I just want you to know that I am sorry to hear of your recent illness and let you know that I am sending good thoughts and prayers your way for a speedy recovery. :)

Bless your heart, I would be a basket case if I were facing that procedure. But, if it'll ease your breathing, looking like a racoon for a week or so will be worth it. I'll keep you in my prayers. And give Sunnie a big hug for getting you to the Dr. before it went any further.

Aren't animals incredible little creatures. They know so many things before we do. Thank goodness for Sunnie. I wish you all the best on your upcoming surgery and hope you have a speedy recovery.

Amazing Little Critters
 
I do believe they have different instincts and sense things we may not, like the recent earthquake in California, and the tumor in your nose.
Here are a few tips from someone who had deviated septum surgery many years ago.
1.Your nose will probably be packed with gauze and you will be amazd by how much gauze the doctor removes!
2.Since your nose is packed, you'll be breathing through your mouth and your lips will become very dry so keep a glass of water with a straw handy and a wet washcloth to blot your lips also helps enormously.
3.You may not get two black eyes, maybe just one on the side where the most work was done.
4.After the packing is removed and you've healed somewhat, you will be amazed by how different you breath.
Sending you good thoughts for a very successful surgery and give Sunnie another special hug, too.

Thank you so much for the information. I was a little worried about the "splints" but I guess it's not my worry, it's the Dr's.

I wondered why Sunnie started to sleep on my pillow (instead of under it), in my face for the past few months. The way she's had been obsessing about my nose, as soon as I realized that something was hurting that should not have been, I went to the dr. I usually let things like that go for months, thinking that it will go away. I'm glad that I didn't let this go.

I have been amazed at the actions and lives of many of the YT :aimeeyork's how they are so intelligent, tough, strong willed, loyal, tenacious & in-tune with those around them. It never occurred to me that mine were that way also.

Wow that is amazing. I've heard of dogs doing that. I'm so glad that you took her seriously and went to the Dr.
