Judy, do you know if there will be tables available there to set the food and raffle items on? Or should we try to bring some of our own? I can't fit my card table in my car, but I could bring a few tv trays. |
YAY! The mystery item for the goodie bags are no longer a mystery!! I am donating Simple Peanut Butter Dog Cookies to the goodie bags. It will be a small candy bag with 4-5 mini cookies for each goodie bag. The ingredients are simple just in case for those who are worried about allergies and such. Whole Wheat Flour Baking Powder Non Fat Milk Peanut Butter (Creamy Plain Kind) Paris ate them with no problems, but i just wanted everyone to know just in case. I ate one for a test and no complaints:D I will add a slip of paper with the ingredients as well in each cookie bag for added safety! |

Update from Visit to Dogtopia First, it's in a little strip mall to the left of Target, behind Cotton Patch Cafe and next to Dunlaps. It's a nice, clean, bright place. There's a long hallway you go down, then through some glass doors. There's the boutique, reception desk and grooming room with a big window. I didn't see any cage dryers at all. I spoke to Kim and her mother, Molly. They are really nice and told me that they will be there on Saturday. We've scheduled Gizmo to be groomed there that morning before the meetup. :) In the back there are three rooms. The romper room (bigger dogs), the toy box (smaller dogs) and the gym (overflow when they are crowded). We are going to be in the gym. It's a big, bright, clean room. There will be a small table in there, but I'm not sure it will be big enough for even the food. The way I see it, we will need about two more tables. Does anyone have card tables they can bring? Unfortunately, I don't have any. They said they have maybe six folding chairs, so we will still need to bring our own. They only have a bathroom area for us to clean up, but I'm sure they can let us use the employee area if we really need it. She has asked that children be with an adult whenever they are out of the gym area. This is for their safety as sometimes they have larger dogs that are very playful or owners with unknown dogs coming in for evaluation. We have also been asked to stay out of the daycare area, but she'll show us all of that when we get there. There is a little grassy outside area we can take the pups, but there are some burrs out there. One area is better and she can show us that too. When we leave that door, we need to carefully prop it open some since it will lock you out if you're not careful. Here's the cool part! We have scheduled the gym from 1-3, but if we go over time, it's not a problem. They will be open until 5 for the daycare part. They will also have the webcam in the gym up and running! lol It will come online at 2pm central time, so our friends on YT can peek at our meetup! :D You can also see the gym if you go to the Dogtopia Waco site and look at the cam for the gym. Summary - -bring chairs -need two tables -children need to be with an adult whenever they leave the meetup room -the webcam will come on at 2pm:thumbup: Any questions? |
Here's the webcam link. Choose gym. :) Dogtopia of Waco - Dog daycare, boarding, boutique and grooming in Waco, TX At the bottom of that page you will also find the address and telephone number. |

I had a feeling you would like that part! :) Just make sure you have Java downloaded. I had to do that before I could watch it. ;) It's not the same as having you there, but we'll be thinking about you that's for sure. Just promise to call me if I look stupid! lol |

Unfortunately no, V won't be able to make it. :( She sends her regrets and she was nice enough to design the logo so she can be there in at least a tiny way. :) |

So somehow I lost track of this thread. Now that I have it back, I want to donate something too. I am not very crafty like so many of you seem to be, although I wish I was. It may not be much but if no one objects, I would like to donate a two month supply (for one dog) of Heartgard and K9 Advantix. I bought them from our vet and they are still in the packaging. I can't use them and I don't want to let them go to waste. I bought them for Scooter but our vet switched him to pills which are easier for him to handle. Plus, the money from the raffle will go to a great cause. Anyone object? |
