A fantastic recommendation :D Rizzo has almost doubled his barking since Cooper has joined the family, they get along fantastically but everytime he hears any sound, he starts to yap. Going to start the coin in can technique to try this out...Also he started to pee under the tree. At first I thought it was the cat annoyed with the new arrival, but witnessed Rizzo doing it. I put a potty pad under the tree now and he goes strait to that. I'm not sure if the increased frequency that he has to pee at is due to the new boy in the house (since it's not marking, just relief type peeing) or because the weather finally turned on us and now it's cold all the time and he hates the cold.
Either way, seems like their "problems" seem to really surface when another dog comes along. At the same time, I love having two dogs in the house, they entertain each-other when outside and inside. They're leaving the cat alone which makes the kitty happy, and I have 3 fur butts to snuggle me and keep me warm on the couch at night :D

Of course, they do shift positions on me every 5 minutes because they seem to think that because the other looks so comfy that is the place to lay so they shove their way in. lol.

I have 5 and as much as I do love them...it was a bad mistake on my part. Their barking sometimes drives me absolutely insane. If it was warmer I'd stick them outside for awhile, but it's way too cold here. Plus....I'm so tired of picking up poo. Some go on the pads, others....wherever. The 3 girls do pee on the pads and I have the 2 boys in belly bands, but there are still some accidents once in a while. I'm so tired of it. If I could find homes for Emilee, Gidget and Ozzie....I would in a heart beat, but my son loves Gidget and Ozzie, husband loves Emilee. I personally would only keep Joey and Brenna.

I know that sounds terrible, but I wouldn't recommend more than 2 at the most. I also would recommend a breed without the bad habits of a Yorkie. I am in my 50's and I've never had dogs 'go' in my house or were as hard to train. Okay...now I'm ranting. I know it sounds like I don't love them at all....I do, but sure wish I knew then what I know now.

I had my girl first and a year later added a male. It took Zoie a week to welcome him, but once she did, i was total love and Fun! Zoie is three and Zack is two and on the day after Thanksgiving, we had five beautiful puppies. I thought maybe we would only have two, possibly three, but when the Vet said we were expecting five, we were prepared well for the births and had a wonderful helper. This entire experience has been amazing for me, and with each passing day, the puppies take on new characteristics. At six weeks, they are healthy, happy, playful, and chunky. I am at a loss though because I am realizing that I may not be able to keep all of them. I am considering selling, bu no for a while. They are weaning, and I would like to keep them as long as possible, bu may consider someone who already knows on caring for Yorkies. I post regularly on my blog with pistures and have a web site too - for my business and book along with links o my blog, etc, in case you wish to know more abou my puppies. I am not a breeder - even though I planned on Zack and Zoie having puppies. And this was all overseen by our Vet.

I have 4 and my thoughts on this are this....I am home all the time and they run free here in the house with me, so I am the Boss. I do not tolerate growling at each other etc, and they know it. All 4 get up on the futon and nap together, so cute. The older a doggie gets they sleep most all day so mine are quiet. I do have one barker, but they know what "no barking" means.

I have had spats in the past, but I nipped it in the bud.

Now, when I have to leave the house, the 2 youngest go to crates with only the 2 oldest, a male and female, running free. I usually shut a door between them just in case they spat while I am gone.

If you have a male, I would buy a female for his companion, but always remember, you are the Boss and they must know it.
