Georgia Yorkie Meet-need your suggestions - specifics will follow Let's set up a Yorkie meet in Georgia. I have 2 date suggestions, the one that has the most yes responses by September 1st is the one we will go with. Saturday, September 27th - midmorning -OR- Sunday, October 12th - afternoon Please provide any dog friendly parks that you have enjoyed in your response. Or any other suggestions for location. It appears most of the responses came from people in the Northwest region of Atlanta. I have not taken Link to any yet so I will also do some research. I am so excited to meet fellow Yorkie owners. I am new at this, so any suggestions on location, activities, etc. are more than welcomed. And, should help make this a great event. Maybe we could get together annually or semi-annually if it all works out ) I look forward to hearing from you |
Columbus Day I don't know if anyone gets this holiday anymore, but Monday, October 13, is Columbus Day. Is this a 3-day week-end for anyone??? |
Not I, it would be nice though :) - The kids don't get off school in Cherokee county. Are the banks and government buildings closed? |
I'm an afternoon person so I will vote for October 12. There is a park in Marietta that is dog friendly. I know they have a group that meets up once a month with dogs. They have a fenced in ball field you can let your dogs run around in. They have sanitary stations with poopy bags. We may need to find a park with pavilions or something incase it rains. I will have to try and remember the name of the park. It is a small park, but its the only one I know that is pet friendly. Maybe we could do like a pot-luck with finger foods. Just a thought. |
Dog Parks I did a search and this was what I came up with on dog friendly parks. I didn't even no we had all these dog friedly parks. Georgia Dog Fun - DOG PARKS |
I've been to the pitner road dog park. it's nice. I will vote for Sep 27. But I can do oct 12 as long as we either do it early enough to get back before the bus runs or after the bus runs and I'll just bring her along. Also the one on pitner road has has playground for kids. |
south georgia i am in south georgia and would love to come to a meetup.. as long as i dont have to drive the 5 hours it takes to get to atlanta.. i am willing to do a roadtrip though as long as it doesnt consume my whole day |
I'd be in for either and thanks for putting this together, i had been wanting to for so long but was really unsure how to go about it, so im glad you did :) |
I would love to come and vote for September 27th but could make the October date also. There is a nice dog park in Alpharetta, Wills park or one in Cumming. The one in Cumming is a little harder to get to though. Let me know if I can help you plan anything. |
The october meet up works for me! As of dog friendly parks I propose... Piedmont, Lenox or Brook Run park. |
The October Meet up works for me. As of dog friendly parks i propose... Brook Run, Lenox or Piermont Park. |
I would love to come - my schedule is fairly flexible and I don't have anything planned for either proposed date. Sounds like fun! |
there is a really awesome animal friendly park here in loganville, its called tribble mill, they have tons of trails, fields, its just really nice |
I think either date will work with Rory's very busy schedule. ;) I think Piedmont Park would be great park for a meet-up! There is the small dog area within the main dog park, and Park Tavern is dog friendly if people wanted to sit on the patio and eat. |
I would love to come but my yorkie baby is too young so next time i will be there for sure. I do know they just opened a new dog park in smyrna which is supposed to be super nice! |
