About finding a companion for your "little man", have you thought about a rescue? Some of the Yorkies are reasonably priced. The reptuable yorkie rescues will have the dog vet checked, heartworm negative, UTD on shots, spayed/neutered & some do the micro chips as well. So you are getting $300 or so dollars or more in vet & medical treatments so the cost of the rescues are really not that much. And there are PURE BRED Yorkie's out there up for adoption, who have lost their homes to various reasons.

I am fostering an adorable little Chorkie girl who needs an adult home. I decided to "foster" to help other Yorkies out after losing our wonderful Miss Annie on 7/7/09.

I'm a newbie too but I'm in Gallatin, TN. I'm fostering a "Chorkie" right now for a great rescue group. She needs a quiet home, she's 7 yrs. & tiny, was an elderly ladies little dog.

Don't forget to check out the Yorkie Rescue groups!!! They have Yorkies in need of homes.

You will enjoy having a little Yorkie around for company, but be prepared to lose your heart to them!!!

We are in Gallatin & I'm surprised there isn't anyone else posting from here.

We lost our Yorkie on 7/7/09 & I fostered small dogs since then for a rescue group. I've looked & looked for a rescue dog but nothing after allot of phone calls, conversations & trips around TN, KY & IL.

Finally a neighbor from our vacation campsite in IL who had bought 2 dogs from a lady, told my husband about where they got their Aussies. A local lady who raises 3 breeds. She thought that a poodle puppy from the lady she had been to see would be perfect for us. After spending almost an hour observing her adult dogs & puppies that they were free, not caged & so well socialized & friendly, we were very impressed. We spent sometime w/the puppy, the last of a litter & my husband was really enjoying the puppy. I left it up to him, as he had picked our Yorkie & she was SO VERY SPECIAL. Since we both were afraid we'd always compare another Yorkie to our Annie, we decided to adopt the little female poodle.

We ADORE all Yorkies, but at this time in our life after allot of looking, we ended up w/a poodle puppy. We've only had her 2 days but she has wiggled & kissed her way into our hearts & our lives.

We will always have our wonderful memories of 15 yrs. of Annie :aimeeyork & we hope that our new puppy will give us as many happy years & memories as Annie :aimeeyork did.

I have been searching Yorkie rescue & other small dog rescues since we lost Annie. We were not looking for ANY dog, but the RIGHT dog for our lifestyle (which includes allot of travel, lots of other family dogs & many social situations any dog we have must fit in). We ended up w/a poodle of all things, would have never thought it.
But Annie was just so incredible, we just couldn't get past the HUGE WHOLE she left in our hearts & minds & lives.

We just didn't find anything in rescue & we were afraid that no other Yorkie could be as special as Annie who was much loved by us & any person who ever met her!

Bonnie and I are 90 miles south of Nashville, right on the Alabama line.

I would like to plan a meet up in Middle TN in the spring. Would anyone be interested? If we start planning now everyone would have the chance to come with plenty of time to request time off etc. Let me know. I would love to meet everyone.

I have a 9 yr. old youkie named Darby. She came from a puppymill we had here in Franklin 6 years ago.
