We get our Yorkie puppy in about 5 weeks. We live in Jackson, TN.

My husband is a retired state environmentalist and I am a retired teacher from Obion County. (Hello, South Fulton!)

Great to read about so many other Yorkie owners in TN!

(I noticed this TN thread was begun some time ago...I hope others know about this regional section. I've just located it myself! This is a huge YT site.)

My Tennessee life:
Lived in Carroll County until college
Graduated Huntingdon High School (Carroll County)
Graduated college and graduate school at UTM (Weakley County)
Career teaching in Obion County
Married and moved to Dyer (Gibson County) late 80's
Moved to Jackson (Madison County) in 2003

I pretty much know the upper and middle part of west TN very well, but only know Memphis in lower west. Know most of the larger areas in middle and east TN. I recognize most of the places you are from from having met teachers in your areas during workshops, etc.

My husband is also from my home county but we didn't meet until our 30's. We know so many of the same people but our paths didn't cross until we were adults. He is a die-hard, loyal UT Vols fan so I became orange and white by marriage...LOL

We both grew up on farms and had dogs as kids but they were always of the outside variety. Neither of us has had any experience with a dog in the house and were our parents living, they would be speechless at the thought...LOL

I love this great state of ours and have no desire to live anywhere else.

rbyorkie:I'am Nina Daxter's chew toy. We live in west Knoxville behind West Town Mall. Daxter just made 1 Feb. 4th I made him a cake and we invited all the dogies from the neighborhood it was wonderful. We had about 14 dog's and puppy's running around my house they had a blast. Daxter's best friend is a husky at one point Daxter was bigger than him but now he is so huge but they play so well. I just wanted to introduce my baby to Knoxville.

HI everyone in the Chattanooga general area, does anyone Knit or Crochet?? I would like to learn some new stitches. I learn from watching and can't do anything by a written pattern, sad to say. I would also like to learn how to make a quilt. So if anybody out there is interested just let me know, maybe we could have a craft/playdate.. I am willing to pay for the lessons.

Hi. We live in Gray, TN...close to Johnson City. I just registered on YorkieTalk today and am slowly figuring it out. :o) I only have one Yorkie, and she's my first. Her name is Ryleigh, and we got her when she was 10 weeks old. She's turning 1 year old this Saturday. We love her so much! She is the first pet that my husband is not allergic to, and he's still "beside himself" about that.

Right now I'm learning about what Shampoo to use on her. She has a very soft coat...sort of woolly, I guess, since its not too shiny. It's still black. I've ordered Duurstede Shampoo SG and Conditioner DT. I've also ordered Pet Silk Silk Sheen. I'm hoping this will help, although everyone who sees her says she has a gorgeous coat....

I'd love to meet anyone in my area who has Yorkies. I'm finding that I just can't learn enough about them. Thanks for reading and have a wonderful night! Vada

DARN!! i missed it :cry:.. i have a little one and live right in chattanooga! my roommate has a little boy too!! was the turnout good??? and what are the options of doing another one sometime this summer?! :teeth: i was actually wondering about other tn yorkies too. i dont have internet at home right now and can only get on at work, which is why i dont have any pictures up :mad: but am going soon where i will and will loads lots of pictures of my little Ms. Peka! But we would love to meet with other yorkies sometime if anyone else is interested! Let us know!!

not sure if people would want to get together for another one.......we had about 13 widdle yorkies..........and it was nice........we were at the RiverView park........very nice............we just penned off a large back corner so the big doggies didnt get to our widdle darlings and let them play and have a good time.............
