If you don't see a stop sign next to your address bar, you can go to "tools" on the top of the screen and click on AdBlock. This will bring up a list of ads that are running on your screen (atleast it should) and you can right click to block them. For anyone that has to disable flash, are you using Explorer? You can always download Firefox since it is way better anyway.;) :p

Ugg! I can't get Adblock to work. It's saying Windows doesn't recognize the file. I'm going to ask my husband to help me tonight. I am definitely NOT going to disable my flash.

I have figured out a way to get YT working like it was before the ad change...I like many of you didnt want to uninstall flash on my comp so all I did was download firefox heres the website http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/ Its like another Internet explorer but better
I downloaded it to my desktop and then double clicked on it and installed...it was really fast. I am on aol so instead of going on YT through aol I just open up firefox and do a search on that for YT. hope it helps!

Thanks for that ^^above^^, but several times, I have downloaded something like this (not this particular thing) and it has messed up my other software I have installed...like my antivirus, etc....I do not know why. SO, right now, I am not comfortable downloading another thing on my computer.......((aurgh))....I guess I will have to cut my YT time down and suffer the time I am on here......(((cry)))

Im sorry that sucks. Firefox isnt like an ad blocker or spyware program. Its a tool searching site...actually uses google to look up the sites. I wouldnt want you to download something that messes up your comp, so i can understand why you dont want to. Just figured I would let you guys know what I did to fix the problem :) and its back to normal now

Oh, don't be sorry.....I am glad you posted it. I might actually try it...as I am so frustrated with that ad right now....AND if it messes up, it is your fault!! Hee,hee (JUST KIDDING):crazy:

I have FireFox AND I have fast cable modem. I feel SO bad for people with dial up or DSL (a little slower than cable moded). This mpire takes a bit to load for me, and I can't imagine how long it takes for others!

Okay, I just download this one ((below)) and so far, it hasn't messed with the other stuff on my computer --- Yay!!! AND the ad isn't on YT anymore when I logged on!!! YAY!!!

BUT....I think it takes longer with this on than dealing with the ad.....this will say "transferring www.yorkietalk.com" and "waiting for www.yorkietalk.com" and the avatars won't show, etc...until it is finished. AURGH!!!

NOW WHAT????

Should I try the other one that is listed??? ((aurgh))

Okay, maybe the "above" link FoxFire, I think - that I downloaded only took so long since it was the first time I used it after logging on to YT, but now, it doesn't seem so slow......CRAZY!!! I think I am just having "one of those days" and I am NOT liking it!!!

Same here. It didn't work at all and now I have something in my computer that could be harmful. Great! I'm going to get off of here now and hopefully the next time I log on, this stuff will be gone!

I totally agree with you. You have to wait until the MPire completely loads up before you can get anywhere. VERY frustrating and very time consuming!:mad:

I deleted it, and now it's running a lot better. The only thing is that now I'm having trouble viewing videos.

Guess I spoke to soon...its just as slow as before...this sucks.
Oh well...what can you do? I have tried to do all that was suggested and had no luck. Its a hassle to get on YT and navigate through the site I guess Im just putting YT on hold for a while :-( hopefully the problem gets resolved

NO No No don't leave, here is the link to uninstall it. If you have windows xp it will put it back on when you sign off for the night. You start out with it installed in the morning and I leave it on until night when it is even slower and uninstall. It doesn't take long at all. You can't get videos but you can at any time you have it installed. I book mark this page when it comes up so I have it handy.

do you have dial-up or modem internet?

just wondering if that has something to do with it being slow???

I have cable internet service. The problem is the ad has to reload every time you look at a new page....... and it's verrrrrrrry slow. I've uninstalled Flash and it is working fast again. Guess if I want to view video or something I'll use my Laptop.

You only need to donate once (for the life of your membership). If you leave you don't get your money back. ;) So YT wouldn't be losing donating members. So DON'T leave! :D :D

But some people do donate more than once. So potentially they could lose some money. Not necessarily, but it could happen
