not saying they are younger than 13, I simply didn't realize that there was any kind of policy about age. glad to know that there is :)

and this particular "kid" claims to have bought 3 yorkies on her own. she just likes to stir the pot a little and it irritated me so I thought I would see if there was an age restriction or not. and there is...and that is fabulous. too bad this person is 14!! LOL

but as you all have said...some kids act better than a lot of the adults on here. sad huh!! but soooooooooooo true ;)

I totally agree with you Judy!

Some of the sites are horrific!

I'm really, really young. I'm only 30. Is that okay? :lol tears :teethysmi :dogsm2: :Puppy2:

Ps. I believe you have to be 13+ to sign up. But yes, you can lie about your age. I should have!!! :p

My mom says i act too old for my age...lol..Im 24 been married almost 4 years have a 3 year old and an almost 2 year old and never was into the partying, drugs or other stuff. My "dogs" are just furry children..they dont even know they are dogs...lol.. I know people twice my age that act like they have the mentality of a 2 year old, those are the people who have no business being on here. They just want to start trouble or scam someone, weve had a couple of those on here too. But they were gone quickly.

Good for you! You aren't missing out on a thing!

I'm 15 (almost 16!) and i can tell ya, I'm a better parent thne my mom, lol. We have a pug and Abby, the yorkie. Pug is mom's and Abby is mine. Everytime she eats (when I'm not in the kitchen) she feeds them table scraps, which i cant stand. The pug is already overweight and I've heards too many stories of overweight dogs having bad health problems.

And they wouldn't get walked if it weren't for me either. Or fed. I fill up their bowls (also measure the right amount!) every morning before i leave for school, and everyday when i get home. I always make sure they have the right amounts b/c I just dont want them to get fat and develop health problems b/c of something so easy to take care of.

Also potty trained Abby by myself b/c it was summer so I was able to be home all day everyday to monitor her.

Everyone that know me thinks I'm older. They always get that  look when I say, yes I'm only 15. lol!

:Birthday3 Well Happy Birthday. I'll bet 50 didn't really feel much different than 49 either, huh? Maybe we're not really aging at all anyway!

Should there be an age limit on this site? I say YES! No one older than 120!! :D

(Uh Kathy, look in the general discussion section! )

Cadens_mommy_22 09-01-2007 01:33 PM

i dont know if there is an age limit cause many young young people, surprisingly, own their own yorkie . if there was an age restriction, maybe i would have not been able to join . im 13 with my own yorkie . && yeahh all that "grown up" stuff . i wouldnt really think too much of it, LOL . :D

I'm 15 and i know where you're coming from, but i doubt many people own their own yorkie as a teenager. Of course by "own" I mean pay vet bills, food expenses, toys, AND being the caretaker 99% of the time. The only reason I consider myself Abby's owner is b/c I have a job and i take care of ALL money related stuff, and she goes EVERYWHERE with me (except work of course). I never depend on anyone to watch her or buy her anything. I do everything on my own.

I had a lot of money saved up to buy a car in a couple months, and i was getting close, but nearly all that money has gone to Abby's vet bills alone, just for shots and checkups. And next month i have to spend $150 to get her spayed. Looks like there's no car coming my way.

woahh !! ur 15 and u do all that by yourself ?! my mommy and daddy bought him for me as a present cause i wanted a dog, and they pay for everything . but they dont even second guess that hes mine . cause at 13, i cant even get a job. (not complaining about that, though ;] ) lol .

he goes everywhere with me, too . except school, ofcourse . and even if i did have a job or a steady income for myself, my mommy would still buy the clothes and everything for me and Caden cause that just what she does .

=] . good luck with that car, though . :D

yea, I dont buy a lot of Abby's clothes, b/c my mom will come home with like 5 outfits, lol. she'll say "I just went in to look but..." :D And i know how that is, i cant go in a doggie store/boutique and not buy something ;)

my boyfriend bought me Abby for our 2yr anniversary, and my mom was preeeetty mad. but of course she couldn't say no! But she said that the only way i could keep her is if i did everything myself, and of course, i couldnt say no either! :D :D

I just wanted to take a moment to tell you ladies how very proud I am of you! Wow! You sound like very responsible and caring Yorkie parents. I am very pleased to know you both. :bravo:

I do think you're a little young to have boyfriends  , but you sound very responsible, so I won't say anything else about that. :D

I'm sure that you'll have your car soon if you keep saving.

does that include me, too ? =]

MyTrixie143 09-01-2007 11:51 PM

Gee, am I too young too?:D

I have owned my own dogs since I was 12 and had the full responsibility and care for them.
But then I have grown up with animals my whole life and have been responsible for them at a very young age. I guess it goes with the territory of always wanting to be a vet someday.

I did see a younger one on here a long time ago. Can't remember the age or the member's name. But she was very irresponsible and loved to stir up conflict. However she was the only one I have seen so far and I thought she got banned?

I do have to agree with the majority though, most often it is the adults that like to stir up trouble.

Wow, we need more 15 year olds like you in this world! When I was 15, I couldn't afford to feed the goldfish. And my writing skills were nowhere near as good as yours.

As for the other youngsters, I was hired by Megan's mom to tutor her into adulthood. She was very immature at 12, but she's starting to come along at 14. In another couple years, she will be able to visit YT without my supervision. ;)
